what is a healthy way to spice up a salad?
i usually have a romaine salad with fat free italian dressing.. but i am getting bored with it. i know croutons arent that healthy, what are some lower cal options to add? i dont eat meat much, otherwise i would add chicken... any tips? thanks!
oh my fav, spin, or other soft green leaves topped with tons of (roasted carrots red peper slices tomatos) that are all warm and while this is wraming put goat cheese on top then right when it come out put paul neumans light cran walnut vinagrette. i have been eating this every day with crusty bread and i am still not sick of it, can put egg whites or actual walnuts in it to give in more protien, also nice to add dried cran berries, and sliced beats and arugala dressing but its rare i have these things around.
that dressing is very good actually, not saying its the healthiest thing but it adds a great flavor
My young daughter only takes iceberg lettuce for lunch so i was looking for a way to add some protein to her lunch, here is my favorite recipe:
Take green mountain salsa (or another organic chunky salsa) and mix in sweet yellow corn and also mix in kidney beans, add chopped onions and a dash of cayenne pepper.
Put this on top of chopped iceburg lettuce and there you go!
PS don't forget a breath mint for those onions :)
