I'm 5'11, 19 years old, and I currently weigh 170 (I dropped 15 recently, yay me!). I've done a lot of research on what I should weigh for my height and age but I'm confused. According to my BMI I should weigh anywhere between 135-175. What would be an ideally healthy LOOKING weight? Right now, I look decent at 170...a lot better than I did at 185. But I'm gearing up for the river and I want a summer body (don't we all?). Any suggestions on an ideal weight?

Do you feel good? I quit going by scales. I will never be as low as they say I should be. I am 5'3" and 154. I would like to lose 9 more lbs but if I don't I feel pretty good. I use to weigh 189.
It really depends on how you carry your weight, how much muscle you
have, whether you're big-boned or small-boned, etc. Also, an "ideally
healthy looking weight" is extremely subjective. I think once you look
in the mirror and are satisfied with your healthy body that you
achieved in a healthy way, I think that's ideal.
I'm the same height as you, and I've fluctuated between 135 and 160. I'm not saying that range is the only ideal weight for my height, but it falls within the safe zone as far as BMI's go.

oh, and I use my scale about half as much as i used to. i keep track of
my measurements just as frequently as my weight now. I might lose 2
inches on my hips, but gain 3 pounds. It's weird but it's possible!
I feel good to an extent. I feel "healthy" so to say, but how I feel when looking in the mirror is another story. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not the skinny type who complains that a grape will make her fat. I'm very real with my body and how I want it to look. I don't set unreal goals. I work out daily by doing cardio and circuit training. I really want to focus on toning my body as well as shedding unnecessary pounds.
According to the middle finger and thumb around the wrist theory I have a small frame...but I'm STRONGLY doubting that. I just have very long fingers and even then it doesn't overlap that much. I gather I'm medium frame and I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs...though my stomach could stand to shrink a bit. I could care less if I carried weight on my butt and thighs forever, it's my stomach that drives me insane!
i would go by dress sizes perhaps and not weight in your case then.
what size are you currently if you dont mind me asking? then you could make it your goal to be at a certain lower size. I personally think a size 4-6 is super attractive, but thats just me, its all about what you want for yourself.
or measuring inches around your waist is a good idea too. like 26-28 inches around the waist is pretty ideal in my head anyhow. beyond 34 inches for a woman is considered a health risk.

My jeans are anywhere from a 9-13 (I have a huge butt) and my dress size varies from a 7-10. I just bought two formal dresses recently and both are an 8. Currently my waist is about 31 inches around (my belly button section), but my lower abs are about 32-33ish...Weight loss, inches, what to eat and what not, it's all so confusing.
I'm 5'11 myself and 197 lbs. But not just any 197 im a brick wall lol. But in your case at 170 its a pretty lean weight as long as you have a low fat percentage. Whats the percentage?? To be nice & slim looking at this height you'd wanna stay between 150-160. Its all a matter of what body type you've got though. I'm a muscular 197 and my fat percentage is at 12 right now.
