i want to get a hrm that also keeps track of how maany calories i burn. do any of you have one? if so, what do u recommend? i know they can be pricy, i dont want to get the cheapest, but i also dont want to get the most expensive one. thanks in advance!
Are you talking about one for exercise or something you wear all the time?
I love my Imara. It doesn't have every possible feature but has enough for me. It's for when you workout, not for wearing all day. The chest strap is really comfortable, too.
Great post! I'd be interested in seeing what other members have as well.
I'd like one for exercise/work outs primarily.
At the fitness store they have one that is a watch, so that you can track your heart rate all day long, but it didn't have the calories on it as well. I find most pedometers uncomfortable or inaccurate (I'm usually wearing skirts or dresses, and most pedomaters require me to clip it to the "top of you pants")

i would like the ones that u could wear like a watch or around ur upper arm like they wear on biggest looser!
I own 2 polar heart rate monitors and i wouldnt exercise without them!
check out their website www.polarusa.com
I find them to be priceless!

i bought one. used it for about a week, got a good sense of what my heart rate was at a run and at a fast walk, haven't used it since. i wonder if i could have rented one?
but i needed the watch anyway, and still use it all the time; i just don't use the band.
I have a Polar F6. Found it on Amazon.com for under $100.00. It does track the calories you burn while working out. I try to burn no less than 2000 calories per week in exercise and this makes tracking effortless. The only complaint I have is the chest strap can be uncomfortable when wearing an underwire sports bra.
If you want something that you wear all day and night (except when showering) to track all calories burned, try the GoWear Fit. It's made by the same company that makes the BodyBugg (as used on The Biggest Loser) but it's cheaper. Found it on Amazon.com for $169.00 (as opposed to over $200). For that price you get three months of the online subscription for free and then it's just $6.95/month if you sign up for a year.
