heartbroken... "i don't date fat girls"....
I was really good friend with this boy. I know I have gained weight since freshman 15, but I CLEARLY
remembered he once told me that he likes me for who I am. when I was willing to commit into a relationship with him, he rejected
me and told his friends that he doesn't date fat girls. what the?!!!
so the fact that I transformed from a size 2 to size 6 changed
everything... I am still in the healthy range. why? are guys all like
that? sigh...now not only my mom called me a chubby lamb... a boy who
used to like me thinks i am freaking fat..... heartbroken....(tears)
i am going to run 3 miles today!!!!!!
P.S. sometimes, i feel like only you guys can understand me and motivate me. thanks everyone.

*gigglesnort* Famine victims...
I'm really sorry about that guy, that can REALLY be a downer. I'm trying to work off my freshmen 15 right now too, I know it's HARD work. Keep working toward your goals and just do it for yourself! Some day you are going to make some great guy so happy, and he won't care what size your jeans are. Don't give up, God loves you and you're worth the hard work you're putting in right now. Keep smilin'!
hey....I went to UVA too (perked up when I heard 3rd year) and totally understand the pressure, especially there, to be thin. Don't worry, there are plenty of non-shallow totally awesome guys there (it's where I met my husband) who would love to date you for you, as you are, healthy, not anorexic. Don't focus on this one idiot. Being a size 6 is both healthy and thin by today's standards. Don't let your mom or your "friend" make you feel bad about yourself--just get motivated to continue to eat healthy and exercise. I really liked running around the new track in the AFC during the midafternoon, not many people were there and it was more fun than running on the treadmill. Don't let the turkeys get you down!
size 6 is fat?
haha i'm a size 6 and i don't feel fat at all, and neither should you.

Don't take it badly but...
heartbroken - he once told me that he likes me for who I am.
Men this age and even older tend to lie when they say that. Generally, it translates by, I like you because you're gorgeous and not because of who you are!
I still think that slim people are (especially when they know they are handsome) so full of themselves that they have to say lines like that to look like they are mature too and not just cute, like they're some kind of hero or saint or something.

What an ass!!! You dont need him Your beautiful your not fat!!
While I haven't read this entire thread, my dear, you do not need this creep. What an *ss-h**e he is, thinking he can say something like that. I wouldn't even continue to be friends with this guy, because he sounds so full of himself. Let him find someone who's a size 0 (which is what he needs to find, if he thinks a 6 is fat!!). You are entirely too cute to be involved with such a guy!
Do you understand that most of us would give a leg to be a size 6? Don't pay any attention to them there are some men (black men inparticular) that love thick girls and I am not even sure if a 6 is considered thick. Thats how now fat you are. You go girl!! You should have told him that you rethought it and decided not to date ugly people so he's out. lol
I know exactly what youre going through. I was in a VERY serious relationship with a guy who said he wanted to marry me. Most of it was long distance.... He was very romantic and after 2 times of seeing me and being around me, he broke up with me cause he "just couldnt look at me romantically" - whatever. Broke my heart and I am still picking up the pieces.
That is why I am here. Getting healthy.... showing him what he is missing out on, cause I could have really loved him. But his loss....

Holy crap! If youre fat, then Im fat too! Screw that jerk! (Not literally! :) Dont let some pathetic little sh!t stain ruin your self esteam, hes not worth it!
This may just be ole Pack's bad advice again, but did you try telling him to...ya know.... bugger off?
...that's what I would do. :)
...that's what I would do. :)

Take it from a boy himself, men expecially young men can be jerks. Like about 95% of them? :D Honestly, I'll be no way indenial about it more than half of them are out there for a good peice of meat.
Don't sweat it sweetie, in a couple years from now you'll be the finest girl around and I bet you if he see's you around he'll be like "oh shit what did I screw up on?" XD
Stay healthy and don't worry about what said boy thinks, its too bad for the population that can only see whats on the outside. They don't know what they're missing.

Don't listen to that total jerk; whether you're a size 2 or a size 60, if he really liked you for who you were, it wouldn't matter. If he thinks 6 is fat, then he seriously needs to get some new glasses!
If he really cared about you, he wouldn't say that; it's obvious he's an egotistical, shallow idiot who doesn't deserve to even look at you! ; )
Let him go off with his little blonde size 0 who accidentally gets blown away by a breeze one day, and has the intellect of a dinosaur! : P

Oh girl, hang in there! You'll find a real man who will love you as you are!
I've been with my man for 3 years now, and when I get self-conscious about my weight, he reminds me that he'd love me at 100, 200, or 300 lbs! There are still gentlemen out there, I promise!

OK. He's definitely an asshole I think everyone has established that already. This may seem random but how and where did you get that imaging thing on your profile, showing what weight loss would look like? I want to do that so bad, it seems like it would be pretty motivating to see. I hope things are well, keep on pushin', and don't forget ladies is pimps too, so get dat dirt off your sholder. LOL. ;p
Size 6 as overweight... man... at my healthiest weight, I won't be able to zip up a size 6 if I plan to inhale at any point in the day.
That aside, I have one fabulous quote to add here:
Revenge is a dish best served cold.
It's shocking to learn the truth about a person. You remembered one person, he showed you he was another. As everyone else has pointed out in one way or another, good thing you learned this now.
As for my quote above... just wait... there is more to a person than their dress size. He'll learn his lesson the hard way if all he ever dates is a size 2 and gives no real thought to what's going on inside his partner's head. In the meantime, you can kick back and enjoy the show from the sidelines.

Hey there, i just drop by to tell u that i definitely understand!! Guys can be jerk sometimes, believe it or not sumtime i think they took most of the part in creating most of the eating disorder that happened to women :(((.
I experienced the same thing with u!! (esp because i came from Indonesia, n most of the girls are way skinnier than me, the guys started to say 'she doesnt look like she's a vegetarian bla bla bla'). But yea, what i was gonna say is that do not let anyone bring u down!! Not even ppl u love. Work hard and prove them that they're wrong.., This is my goal if i really get back in shape.. And we'll see who'll laugh the last :P
"They can say anything they want to say try bering me down but i will not allow anyone to succeed hanging cloud over me; And they can try how to make me feel that i don't matter at all but i refuse to falter in what i believe and lose faith in my dreams"--Mariah Carey (Can't Take that Away)
Good luck!! :)

::mouth drops to floor::
Since WHEN is a size 6 considered "fat"???????
I would LOVE to be that "fat" ....
::picks jaw up from floor and walks away, in total disbelief::
Please do not think you are fat, by any means. Size 6 is NOT fat. If they have a problem with how you look, then that is THEIR issue to deal with, not yours. Please do not take their insensitivity as a barometer of your worth. And yes, guys - and moms! - can be quite insensitive (and moms think they are doing it out of love and concern). Just simply tell her that you feel you are quite fine with how you look and feel and when you feel that you need to lose a few pounds, then you will do it. You don't need berating and belittling as a motivator. (yes, this is coming from experience...)

Ok now I feel extremely fat in my size 10! Ahh to be size 6 again! This guy is extremely moronic and doesn't deserve you. Size 6 is not fat at all and he's definitely not worth your time!
Wow, I totally understand. The school I went to was rated #3 in the nation for hot girls in Playboy or some crap a year before I started there. Girls weighing 90 lbs, fake boobs, fake tans, everyone blonde and wearing Prada...it was pure hell I tell ya. I was a size 10-12 in college, pasty white and dyed my hair pink and purple. Couldn't get a date with a student to save my life. Ended up dating skater/punk "townies" (which was better anyway; I met some cool people!)
All this will pass. The shallowness that is college (which is really just the same shallowness that existed in HS except extended and intensified) won't matter after you graduate. And like everyone said - a size 6 is NOT fat at all. That's just ridiculous. I'm a size 6 right now and I pranced around at a club on New Years wearing a half shirt and miniskirt and thought I was hot @#$%. And I was right too. You look great.
Interestingly - I saw a few of my teensy fellow graduates not that long ago and dang, did they put on weight. Trust me, after busting their metabolisms for 4 years, coupled with occasional binge drinking, and the reality that having a real job cuts into your obsessive working-out and making yourself puke time, most of those other girls can kiss those size 2 jeans goodbye by age 25. It's people like us on this site who actually CARE about good nutrition and health and not about being able to disappear when we turn sideways that will have hot little tushies for the long haul :)
