♥"A Healthy Baby & Me" Pregnancy Group♥

Quote  |  Reply

Since there are a few of us who are interested in staying healthy and active during our pregnancy, I thought it would be great to start a "pregnancy group".

I know that for many of us, it is easy to get caught up in the pregnancy and sometimes we do not always worry about what kind of food we are eating or if we are active.

This group will serve as a daily, weekly, or whenever you want check-in to keep us all motivated to remain healthy and active throughout our pregnancies.  Feel free to discuss whatever else you may want as well.

Here are some helpful links to check out as well:

I agree, usually a sample or half of the meal will satisfy the craving.  The key is to only eat half and not all of it.  :p

bypassed the kitchen goodies.

but

I'm STARVING!!!!!!!!!    i'm going to explore to see what I can eat that's not tooooooo bad!

Awesome self control Vanessa! Half portions is a good idea...guess I'll just have to make hubby eat half with me from now on! =) Lucky guy doesn't have to watch what he eats at all...gr.
Oh no! Fried pickles sound gooood now! Thanks alot lol =D

Never liked those before now!

Vanessa ~ You need to pass some of your self control over this way.  :)

not to self controlled-  i just went to fatwitch and go a caramel brownie and poured myself a huge glass of skim milk.

question for all you ladies-  i haven't gotten them yet; when will i?  stretchmarks?  I've been using Mario Badescu muscle oil that said it should help heal/prevent/reduce these.

yum!  brownies sound so good.

good morning ladies!

i have the palms cocoa butter for stretchmarks and i have the kerri lotion for stretchmarks but the smells of the lotion get to me in a really bad way for some reason.  I may just opt for the the MB muscle oil and the cocoa butter from palmers.  my mom and my sister didn't get stretch marks; but people lately have been commenting that i'm not "that big".  sometimes I find it a little insulting-  are you saying my baby isn't big enough??  how big do you want me to get ?! LOL.  she's definitley in there!  I don't mind if I get a few; I started getting a little itchy yesterday on the top of the bump; but other than that not really anywhere else.

So, I'm working from home today.  I was so tired last night by the time I got home.  My DH surprised me at the train station and picked me up so I didn't have to walk!!!  SO Sunday is my official start of my 32 weeks so that means I only have two more months to go!  How exciting!    I'm looking forward to having Monday off next week; it's supposed to be a nice sunny weekend!!

I just ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for breakfast.  I should've had my fiber one; but.......I'll eat it later!!!!!

I have not heard of Kerri's or MB Muscle Oil?  Where did you get them from?

I have a few questions...what does DH stand for and DS? Doula?

I wish I could work from home. I don't know how I could do that. I'm in retail banking. My head hurts today and I had another crazy dream about losing my car. I couldn't find it anywhere but I saw so many cars the same color as mine but none were mine.

I'm not that sick today but a little. I hate that I have to snack in the middle of the night just to make it better the next morning. I'm going to be huge if I keep this up. I just want to be all belly with no stretch marks. I'm going to check ou that oil. I can't wait until 5 o'clock. Why can my BF be rich? Why?

eww- that lady sounds mean.  you should be able to shop wherever you want-  and i'm sure regular clothes simply weren't comfortable anymore.  she had no right.  I'd be furious too.  those clothes are expensive!!!  you're breakfast sounded yummy.  Eggs are good!  protein, albumin and lecithin!  all what baby needs!

I got the kerri stretch mark lotion at duane reade -  do you have those where you live?  i'm sure cvs or a walgreen's carries that line as well.  the MB Muscle oil is from this website:  http://www.mariobadescu.com/productDetail.asp ?ProductID=218&CatId=10

it's $$$ but a little goes a long way!

Nenewa ~ D usually stands for Dear and H stands for Husband, S for Son, D for Daughter and so on.

Here's an article about preventing stretch marks:

  1. Eat a healthy, diverse and balanced diet that keeps your weight gain within the recommended range of 25 to 35 pounds. Excellent nutritional status is vital for your developing baby, but it also contributes to the strength and health of the body’s largest organ: the skin. What’s more, a controlled and steady weight gain, without any wild upward swings, will let your skin stretch at a steady rate without any unexpected jolts.

  2. Use a body brush or wash cloth to massage the areas where you have stretch marks, or want to prevent stretch marks from appearing - this will increase circulation to the area, which may be helpful.

  3. Drink plenty of water. Hydration is important for your overall health and well-being as well as that of your growing baby, and it is critical to healthy skin.

  4. Take your vitamins. This is one more way to ensure proper nutritional status, which is critical for your overall health and well-being, as well as beautiful skin and a healthy baby!

  5. Keep skin liberally and effectively moisturized beginning in the first or second trimester and through your recovery to your pre-pregnancy weight, perhaps with one of the many oils and creams marketed especially for stretch mark prevention. These moisturizers will help keep your skin supple and elastic plus serve as “food” (and vitamin supplements) for your skin. The various vitamins and oils used to create these formulas are designed to help enhance collagen production and support the dermis, to keep skin intact despite the rigorous stretching.

~Morning Ladies~

I hope everyone is enjoying their day off from work today.  Laughing

morning ladies-  welcome back to the real workld vs. holiday long weekend world.....

it's funny; but i had such a great morning; getting soaked walking to the railroad didn't even phase me-  but i have to say someting clicked over when i got to work and I have to be in the most FOUL mood ever!!!!!  i'm trying not to bite anyone heads off!!

ms rainbow-  let us know how your sonogram went!  I want a 3D one!  Did you have to ask for that specifically?  is it covered like a normal sonogram?

~Good Afternoon~.

My Dr appt on Wednesday went well, babies heartbeat was at 159. The Dr thought I could be getting blurred vision and dizziness from not drinking enough water.  I will have to try harder to drink more water.

I had a great weekend travelling to see some family, but I'm glad to be home now. My neice who is a month younger than my son was with and those two had a blast. They were laughing most of the weekend.

I have a bunch of yard work to get done, but I set my goal for tonight to at least get the raspberry bushes trimmed up. That is after I go and work out. I'm getting caught up today on work, one woman was on vacation last week and that put me way behind on my work.

I have been craving chinese food also, especially egg rolls.  Also chips and salsa, spicier foods than I usually like. The worst is probably the chocolate cravings, but I've found chocolate milk helps to control those.

Thought I would drop in. I am an old time member experiencing my second pregnancy (first on C-C). I love C-C and I always used it to help with ED recovery and healthy weight loss/maintenance. Now, I want to continue to use it through pregnancy and after for weight loss and support. I am 20 weeks tomorrow and have my gender US on Thursday 29th. Congrats to all who are expecting. Laughing

UTR-did you get to see what gender baby might be???  I'm assuming it's a little too early, but one can hope! :)

shill-do you have any preference on what you're having?  Everyone was driving me crazy before I found out I'm having a girl.  For some reason, both of our families seemed to think that I wanted a girl so bad.  My husband's grandpa even asked me if I was going to be disappointed if it was a boy.  WTH?!?!  I love little boys, so I would've been happy with another one.  I honestly didn't care if I didn't get the "perfect family" (their words, not mine).

On another note, my back is just killing me today.  I think I overdid house cleaning this afternoon!
