♥"A Healthy Baby & Me" Pregnancy Group♥
Since there are a few of us who are interested in staying healthy and active during our pregnancy, I thought it would be great to start a "pregnancy group".
I know that for many of us, it is easy to get caught up in the pregnancy and sometimes we do not always worry about what kind of food we are eating or if we are active.
This group will serve as a daily, weekly, or whenever you want check-in to keep us all motivated to remain healthy and active throughout our pregnancies. Feel free to discuss whatever else you may want as well.

A Week-By-Week Guide to Pregnancy
Hi everyone! Wanted to jump in and join you. I'm a little over 6 weeks pregnant with #2. I gained way too much weight last time so I'm really trying to continue working out and eating healthy with this pregnancy. I know I'll need lots of support. I had lost about 20 lbs, but was still about 20 overweight when I got pregnant. I haven't gained any weight yet but I'm hungry all the time!! I've just been trying to keep healthy snacks around me. :)
Congrats to everyone here!
Hey yall. I just had an ultrasound today and I saw my baby's heartbeat for the 1st time. It's was 141 bpm. I started to tear up because I'm still so amazed I guess at what is happening inside me. I'm experience some light brown discharge which I heard is normal. Is this true ladies? So now I have to have another U/S in two weeks. That will be 3 U/S in 6 weeks. That's crazy and expensive I'm sure. I'm going to check my insurance to see if it's covered, if not then I'll have to determine whether it's absolutely necessary. I still haven't been to the gym. My nausea is better but now I'm finding that I don't really have an appetite. I'm not eating good things at all right now. I feel this extreme hunger and then when I go to eat, I get so full so fast and then I can't eat anymore. Maybe I can go to the gym tomorrow and start to eat better.
I would like a boy this time. I have a girl (5) and my ex has a daughter (16) as well. My family are all adamant about it being a boy and Joe (my ex) is dead set on the idea. I really am okay either way though. I stopped trying to guess. It's pointless.
You know what makes me mad though...Joe wants a boy because of family name and all that. Here's the kicker; we were never married and the relationship went to poo after his lazy and dumbass behaviour. So, I have no desire to give the child his last name. I am in no way obligated to do that. It's not spite, it's my choice.
Either way, I am excited to no ends. Just 1 1/2 days!!!!![]()
Nenewa, are you a high-risk pregnancy? If so, the diagnosis of high risk each visit will warrant you additional US and insurance should cover. If not, then it's crazy that they would give you 3 US's in the 1st trimester. How far are you?
Is your doctor charging you for each sonogram Nenewa?
Shill, I bet you are super excited to find out what the gender of the baby is.
Congrats on your pregnancy Newmama13!
No I'm not high risk and I don't know if they are charging me. The first ultrasound was due to my cramping. They wanted to make sure it wasn't ectopic and then this one yesterday was to see the heartbeat and since I told them that I was having a light brown discharge they scheduled another one in two weeks. I cannot afford to pay for all of these u/s that's all I know. I'm going to call today and speak with someone to see if it's necessary.
I haven't been having problems lately with the blurred vision or dizziness, that was a couple of weeks ago and it only happened twice. I'm hoping it was just a fluke. I've been having a bit more energy the last few days, I did get my raspberry bushes trimmed yesterday and some other yard work, and that was after I worked out. A pretty good day. My husband cooked supper last night, breakfast sausage, eggs and toast...everything tastes better when you don't have to make it. My son really liked it, he ate 2 sausage patties.
Nenewa with my first pregnancy, I had an ultrasound every month for the first 4 months. They were having trouble hearing the heartbeat very good, so they did the ultrasound to check. I had good insurance at the time, so I wasn't concerned about the price of them, but I think it would be a good idea to check if it is completely necessary.
Nenewa ~ I hope that either your insurance covers the sonograms or that your doctor's office isn't charging you for each one!
Amanda ~ Breakfast for dinner! Yummy!
I have my check up appt on saturday morning; which I'm sure will go fine. i've been feeling very moody lately- i'm sure it is hormones becuase my face has been breaking out- belly is getting much bigger - baby is very active- i just wish I didn't have to work anymore- although I have to admit I'd probably be bored!!
My joints are getting very painful- my ankles and hands are getting very stiff. I woke up with a horrible charlie horse- is labor like a charlie horse in your stomach? If it is- I'll definitely re-think the natural method- I couldn't speak/breathe throught the 90 seconds of muscle tightening torture!
Well, the verdict is in and it's a GIRL! I kinda knew it.
I am really excited.
Due date still 10/14/08-10/15/08
Fetal weight- 13-15 oz (norm is 10!!!) LOL!
I'm having a giant! Keep in mind, I am 5'3"...![]()
(i'm having a girl too!)
Shill ~ Congrats on the girl! Do you already have a name picked out?
Thanks Vanessa/UTR.
Vanessa- I know with my experience, the cramps were very tolerable and I was able to stay calm up until the final throws. Unfortunately, gallstones (I was unaware of) were a culprit in early labor. I experienced a lot of nausea due to them. I had to opt for the epidural because of that. Without that problem, I would have been able to breeze (spoken lightly) through a natural birth. Just remember to relax the best you can. Yoga was a wonderful preparation for childbirth.
Undertherainbow- I have picked a name. The middle is still up for possible change though. Charlotte Sophia Hill. I want to call her Charlie, but my mom likes Sophie. Now I like both. Who knows!!!!![]()
Both of those names are adorable!
We are still deciding if we are going to find out what we are having or not. Last time we didn't and it was a pleasant surprise. I have a girls name picked out, but not a boys name yet.
I went for a walk with my son in his wagon last night and I could swear the hill next to our house has gotten bigger since the last time I walked it. I've been going to the gym but I haven't been doing much walking at home since I found out I was pregnant. I guess I'll have to start doing more.
I plan to get some gardening done this weekend. Our house that we bought last fall had a garden spot on it that hadn't been used for several years, so it's pretty weedy. We started tilling it, but I'm going to have to try to dig out some of the weed roots before we do any more. I'm hoping to get that done and tilled and planted mostly this weekend. I'll see how I'm feeling though.
I don't feel good today at all. This sucks!! My head hurts and my stomach is queasy but I don't want to eat. I didn't get any sleep for the cramping last night and upset stomach. Something I ate made me sick yesterday. I was just trying to eat something because I have no appetite for real.
I think I want a girl too. I think I would just love to have a girl a little me. That would be my little girl, me, my Mama and My Grandmother all together. Now I'm finding out that my grandmother is depressed so my Mom doesn't want me to tell her. :( I need her to be well so she can help me.
i wanna join :)
i am 8 weeks pregnant and having a hard time doing anything ;) I have been so tired and nauseated. I have been eating out a lot and not going to the gym ...but i know that i need to ... I am already overweight and don't want to gain unnecessary weight.
~*Good Morning Ladies*~
Congrats on your pregnancy mandimalaman! I am in a similar situation as you. I haven't been to the gym in 2 months! That's a long time for me. (Thankfully, we've been pretty active on the weekends and doing a lot of walking) I've also been eating out a lot due to convenience because I have been so exhausted lately.
I need to get back on track with eating healthy and working out. I keep saying that but it's much easier said than done! ![]()
shill--congrats on the baby girl!! What type of yoga did you do while pregnant? I like yoga and I've been taking it for a few years...some at the gym and some with videos at home. The video I have at home is pretty intense though and I'm not sure if I should be doing some of those poses while preggo. :)
amanda1979--we're not sure if we want to find out the gender this time either. We left it a surprise with our 1st and it was fun. I'd like to do it again, but then I would also like to know. I don't know...we'll have to talk about it. My mom wants us to find out. :)
I was feeling nauseous all last week but I started feeling better Friday afternoon. I hope it doesn't come back. I didn't work out as much as normal last week, but I'm gonna get back on track starting today. My goal is to finish this program that I started in April. I have one more month of it and then I'll have to figure out what kind of workouts to do for the rest of my pregnancy.
