♥"A Healthy Baby & Me" Pregnancy Group♥
Since there are a few of us who are interested in staying healthy and active during our pregnancy, I thought it would be great to start a "pregnancy group".
I know that for many of us, it is easy to get caught up in the pregnancy and sometimes we do not always worry about what kind of food we are eating or if we are active.
This group will serve as a daily, weekly, or whenever you want check-in to keep us all motivated to remain healthy and active throughout our pregnancies. Feel free to discuss whatever else you may want as well.

How are the pregnant ladies doing today?
As for exercise, I need to do something. I'm planning to walk at least an hour in the evenings, and I'm going to try using my recumbent bike while my son naps-that is if I don't require a nap myself. I can only do that for so long though. I had to give up the recumbent bike toward the end of my first pregnancy because my belly was just in the way of my legs when I peddled. LOL!
It is just so darn hot outside now!
I am doing the same thing. All I do is eat fast food. Just now I had a whopper junior meal with fries!!! I never eat fries!!! I haven't been to the gym in about 2 months either. My nausea is a little better but not all the way. I'm so exhausted too. I can't even clean up my apt. thoroughly. I am so lazy. This has to stop soon because how will I raise a baby being this lazy. I haven't gained much yet but if I keep this eating out of control up then I will. When will the energy return, month three? I'm only in month two.
it's hot in ny too. too much for me! it's hard lugging this huge belly around! I've been so lazy too. I can't even carry the laundry basket up two flights of steps. I'm usually a step ahead of everyone else, but I find that everyone is a step ahead of me! Brain fogs; bloating; tired/painful feet; and wanting to nap all day has almost taken me over!
i have a doc's apt. today. i have to ask him if i can go kayaking. i have a kayak with pedals - and a rudder that I use for steering- not actual rowing; so there wouldn't be any twisting involved. I hope he says yes b/c it's great excercise and loads of fun. plus; I'll be able to spend time with my DH becuase we go out together to fish (I don't eat them)
have a great day all!
I also have been finding it hard to exercise. Even when I do go to the gym I don't work too hard or stay very long. My energy level had been doing a little better, but it's kind of in spurts. Some days I have a lot of energy and others I don't want to get off the couch. I'm really hoping to get some more energy back, I'm worried I'll gain a ton of weight if I keep this up.
I am at 15 weeks this week and am just starting to feel the baby moving. It's a nice feeling, makes it seem more real.
Vanessa ~ Hopefully you get to go kayaking! That sounds like fun.
Amanda ~ How wonderful that you can feel the baby move now! ![]()
Hello all! I'm so freakin' tired today. I just went to the bathroom and took a short cat nap. I need to go back. I really want to be a stay at home Mom because I'm already exhausted now. I can't get any good sleep for peeing all through night, every hour on the hour. *sigh* My poor bladder! I can't keep my eyes open.
Amanda; it's so great when you can feel the baby move. It makes it so real!
Ms. Rainbow- I had to stop wearing my heels around that time too. And I was 4 inch heel queen! I have now resorted to cute ballet flat but I bought Dr. Scholls foot pads for Plantar Facitis (or something like that) - it provied cusioning to your arches and heels; since ballet flats sometimes hurt too. I found that it make walking so much better. I don't like the Gel inserts- they SQUEAK!
Nenewa- you'll get your energy back soon. the first trimester hits your like a truck. it's an awful tired feeling. I had constant energy when my fith and sixth month hit. I was so glad to have it back!
So my doc's appt went well last night. He let me listen to the heartbeat a little longer since I asked him to. 6 more weeks to go and I'm going to be a mom! I'm so excited. I just can't wait to meet her; and I can't wait to be able to see my feet again! My tummy is so round! I like it though. I'm in awe that I have grown an actual person.
I'm still walking a lot; and since my doc said that I can kayak; I'm going to go this weekend. That's such great cardio; although I'll have to go at a slower pace. My DH can always tow me if I get tired. He's the best! He's going to put these float things on so I can't tip over. I bought a life jacket that doesn't constrict my waist- it goes around my neck. Although; i was 10 pounds heavier yesterday than 3 weeks ago; although i was bloated; it was 7:15PM and I had drank 5-7 bottles of water that day. I'm thinking it wasn't quite accurate. Let's see what it says in two weeks when I go back first thing in the AM.
Happy Day ladies; I'm sorry some of you are experiencing such hot weather! It's a little cooler now since it rained here in NY.
Wow! The next 6 weeks will fly by so quickly. Have you already decorated the baby's nursery/area?
Hello to everyone today. I'm glad to say that I feel better today than yesterday. I think the night before I must have taken a tylenol pm too late and that's why I was extremely exhausted the next day. I hope to go to the gym today and get some type of exercise. I'm eating way too much junk and it's starting to show with the lack of exercise. Other than that everything is fine today. I'm trying to get my finances in order. There is so much to do. I have no money. I hope I can make a good commission next month because I'm going to need it.
Hello! No one is writing, why is that? I am tired again today because again last night I got no sleep from peeing every 45 minutes. I think it may be due to the fibroid that is hanging off the top right of my uterus next to my bladder. I think that when I lay down it presses up against my bladder and makes me have to pee all the time. It's worse now that I'm pregnant because it's grown some. I hope it doesn't grow any larger because I'll be in big trouble.
I almost vomited this morning too but I fought it. I have a question for you all, when is the best time to take your prenatal vitamin? I have started to take mine in the evening with dinner because I hate feeling nauseated at work. I am now taking Ultra Natal Care. Meijers gives them away free with a prescription.
I still don't really have much of an appetite. I feel so hungry and then I buy all of this food and I can barely eat a few bites. I cannot wait until the 2nd trimester when I'm supposed to feel better. No gym yet either, *sigh*. I'm becoming a fat a$$ and it's only two months. :(
Nenewa- have you spoken with your doc about your fibroid? Are you drinking a lot before bed? I'm sure you're not becomming a fat a$$- your're pregnant! and the first trimester really does hit you like a truck and drains all your energy. I would suggest taking your pre-natal before bed. That way you'll sleep through the nausea. That's the only time I can take mine.
You'll get back to the gym when your body lets you. Just listen to it. Or; instead of going to the gym; take a walk outside. At least it's something!
People at work are so demanding! I feel like everyone is coming at me all at once. I'm getting these huge projects to work on and I'm giving birth in 6 weeks!!
Vanessa ~ Sounds like your work is trying to take full advantage of you because they know you are leaving soon! That really stinks though. I hope your work load lightens soon... I am sure you have plenty of other things overwhelming you right now. ![]()
Hey everyone!
I am melissa---I am expecting my second child--I am about 10 weeks along. Very excited...even though totally unplanned. Like many others I still had some weight to lose from the first one..lol I started my weight lost journey back in October of 2007 I had lost about 52 pounds. But now being pregnant I am focusing on not gaining an ungodly amount of weight and staying healthy through this pregnancy (unlike before I gained over 60 pounds!!)
I love making friends on here...and seeing how everyone else is getting along. I love the support I have received from cc and I am really hoping to gain it now more than ever!
Mel
Hi Melissa!
Congrats on your 2nd. How are you finding this pregnancy different than the last?
Good Morning! Yes my doctor knows about the fibroid on top of my uterus. I will mention again this week when I go. I don't drink alot but I do take a sip of something everytime I get up. I am always very thirsty when I sleep. I don't have diabetes though. Even so I don't drink enough to make me have to pee so much an hour later. I need to talk to a doctor about detrol or see what is wrong with my bladder. At this rate I'll be wearing depends by the time I'm 40.
This weekend I found myself wanting to shop as if I wasn't pregnant. I wanted to buy these BEBE jeans even though I knew I wouldn't be able to wear them much longer. That is going to be the hardest part for me over the next year because I love to dress in cute clothes and to have to see all these nice bodied chicks this summer is going to make me mad. I almost wish I could just have this baby in August so I can get back in the gym and get my body back that I had worked so hard to get. I know that I will forget all about this once I lay eyes on my baby but I won't forget for long because I don't want to be a fat a$$. lol.
I can't wait to see what I'm having. Did I tell you all that the heart beat is 156. Doesn't that mean I'm having a girl? I hope so. I do want a girl now.
Oh and my hip bone has been killing me this weekend. I can barely walk. Is that related to my pregnancy?
Its so hot out! I decided to work from home today. I can't see myself on the subway today. Too many stairs to climb!!!
My mom threw me my shower this weekend. I was so surprised! I got to see my sister who lives three hours away; so it was so amazing to see her as well. I recieved so many wonderful presents for the baby. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing family, on both my side and my husband's side! They were all so excited about the baby and it really made everything seem so real. I went home and I sorted everything....then I took it upon myself to put the travel system together!!!!!!! I was so proud of myself; although it did take me a whle; becuase I am very bad at reading directions!! I couldn't help but wheel it around my living room!!!! I cried when my sister left; I became so emotional all of a sudden; then my mom started up the water works; and then my sister. Oh my poor dad!!!!!! Those hormones must be kicking in!!!
6 more weeks to go. But she's pretty big and she's very active and I'm thinking she might come a bit sooner. As long as i make it past 37 weeks!! I have a doc appt on saturday; so let's see what he says.
happy day ladies! stay cool, hydrated, and relaxed!
Awww that was so cute Vanessa. I'm glad you had a wonderful time. Makes me wonder what my baby shower will be like. You are so lucky to be able to work from home. I wish I could do that because I would alot!!
