Who the heck drinks Green Tea.. Seriously ?!
Honestly, it's dreadful. I drink Bigelow Green Tea, and I want to, if not love or like, just simply not gag while drinking it. I really want all the good stuff that comes with this, so please give me some suggestions that will please my tastebuds. I do not want to add any kind of sugar, whatsoever, so be creative people. oo I just thought of a lemon, anyone ever try that ??
**Edit. WOW ! So many helpful replies and great tips ! There's more than a few of these that sound very tastey and I want to try now ! Thanks everyone. <3
I like Green Tea. Lemon would be good. You could try adding Stevia (which is a 0 calorie natural sweetener). I LOVE Stevia.
I love green tea.
With and without stevia.
Everyone's tastes are different.
Hi queenb! I started drinking green tea about 3 years ago. I had your reaction so I experimented. I settled on Lipton Green Tea that comes in different flavors - Lemon Ginseng and Orange Passion are my current faves. There are no chemicals added. No sweetners. Just the tea. I brew it with almost, but not quite, boiling water for no more than 3 mins. One tea bag for 8 ounces of water. Stronger if I am making iced tea. Its been a wonderful change for me. I don't crave any carbonated drinks at all. I only drink one coffee, down from three, each morning. Keep trying! One more thing - make sure you aren't confusing green tea and herbal tea. They really taste different!

I just came on this link in another cc discussion thread. The doc writing this suggests adding honey to tea or a cinnamon stick. Check it out.
OMG!! the reason your tea totally sucks is because it is bagged, i hate bagged teas, but i LOVE loose leaf teas, all the different kinds of teas have different benefits, white, green, black, and oolong are all good for you. here are some websites that sell great tea, and you can get the flavored ones! oldecupandsaucer.com and its olde not old, i highly recommend them i buy tea there all the time, luckily i live nearby do i get to go in the store and don't have to order, mountainroseherbs.com is also excellent, and so it teasect.com. There are so many different flavors of green tea you have to fins at least one that you like! drinking loose leaf has so many more benefits then the bagged tea, the bagged tea is lowest quality and definetly dosnt taste as good as loose tea, good luck on your tea quest!, ps sorry this is so long its just im a tea addict i have tea every single day!!:))~erica
Loose tea is better than bagged tea, though I have found a good bagged green tea (Tazo's Zen tea). Make sure you're not over-brewing it. Green tea doesn't need very long to brew and if you leave the bag in over the recommended time, the tea will taste bitter.
I mostly drink green tea solo but I sometimes I add a bit of honey.
Heh - I think I replied to your other thread.
Green tea is not my favorite. I much prefer black tea - it's less grassy. However, I do like both peach green tea (I think it's Bigelow) and jasmine green tea (not sure of the brand, but it's pretty common).
Black tea has most of the same health benefits of green tea (says WebMD), although I'll be honest - I drink tea because I like it and I need the caffeine. Any health benefits are pretty much a fringe benefit for me, so I haven't looked into the research :). I like mine plain, but any sort of citrus is good in tea. Some people like milk - I'm not a huge fan, but it does tend to blunt the taste of the tea, so you might give that a try. You can also add cinnamon or brew it with a little chunk of ginger, clove, cardamom pod (really, any sort of whole spice that you can fish out).
I hope you learn to like it - good luck!

I agree - Tazo's Zen is excellent.
I would try a berry flavoured green tea, that's what I drink and it tastes great. I have never tried a normal green tea so I wouldn't know if it tastes bad.
Just to let you know, I also HATE green tea. Actually I hate most teas. I found this herbal tea at my super market that tastes like water with peppermint in it and it isn't so bad. I can't remember what it is though... has a dragon on the front (my daughter picked it out).
The only green tea I have EVER been able to drink is green tea with citrus and that is only because the citrus taste mostly overwhelmed the nasty tea taste.
Why would you eat/drink something that tastes horrible? Life is too short for that.

I guess it's an acquired taste ![]()
I like green tea, I use a granulated vegetarian instant tea from a company called higher nature. Plus I like it quite weak so although the tub is expensive it lasts forever!
I found that making tea with a tea bag or loose leaf it's always too strong for me. Then again I'm weird because I also like to drink hot water, especially on a cold day ![]()
I absolutely love green tea. I had some REAL tea the first time when I was living in Korea and then I purchased some when I went to China. It is quite good and with all the medicinal properties, you can't beat it. I believe it was called gyokuro. Drinking tea in Asia is like an artform; a luxury. The stuff in the grocery stores and commissaries is NOT real green tea. Also, green tea does not have berry flavors to it either. Also, when you drink green tea, it is not supposed to have sugar in it. But I think the trick to making it taste good is to NOT overbrew the leaf because then it gets very bitter.
Green tea is an acquired taste, and I love it. At first, yes, it's quite bitter and dries my mouth out.
But: make sure you leave the bag in for just long enough but not too long. Around 3 minutes. If it over-brews it'll be too strong.
Secondly, it tastes weird when you drink it alongside certain foods! Green tea and peanut butter do NOT mix!
Thirdly, try green tea and jasmine together. You can buy bags that blend both, or if you're taking it by leaf have green tea and jasmine leaves together. Jasmine is delicious, really delicate and sweet, and helps.
I've also found Chinese green tea to be more palatable than Japanese. (I have tried both in their native countries during green tea ceremonies!)
I drink Organic Chai green tea by Stash and enjoy it actually...
i love green tea and i love it bagged not loose leaf that get into the mouth , yuck
so try Twinings of london ( that the name on the box ) and the one with lemon is good too
or try Lepton iced green tea with lemon and mint it soooooooooooo good
i do not drink soft drink anymore since i found the lepton ice green tea
I really like chai spice (by lipton) and black tea, especially with some pumpkin pie spice and bit of milk. I've tried regular and peach flavored green tea- Not a fan.
Bigelow Constant Comment Green tea with liquid stevia is delicious. I has been my morning staple for years! I am not a coffe drinker and i have several cups of this every morning. That being said, I don't think it does anything to help me lose weight. I just like it!
OMG - Queen b I'm with you. I've tried green tea hot and cold and I think
it's disgusting. So bitter. I don't mind regular tea but this green
tea is definitely out. Good for me! I don't think so....
I agree with ericaaxe, bagged tea sucks. Plus there are about a million types of teas in the world, if you don't like that green tea, try a different green tea...if you really hate every green tea you try, don't force yourself to drink it, tea's good for you but it's not worth it if you hate it.
Try white tea or black tea. Or go down a totally different route and drink herbal (there are SO many types, if you can't find one you like, you aren't trying), herbs have lots of health benefits and are cal-free as well, and most are caffeine free too.
Edit: I'm currently drinking a lemon blueberry white tea that is super delish and mildly sweet teasting with no sugar added.
