What the heck happened to me ? HELP PLEASE
Im so depressed, Ive been following a very strict exercise and diet plan for weeks now, I haven't binged, ate chocolate or deviated from it at all. Ive lost a total of 39lbs until yesterday.
I woke up in the morning at 165 lbs and by lunchtime i weighed a massive 172 lbs and I still do this morning.
I have been eating hardly anything and exercising constantly. What happened to me ?
Advice anyone ? Im at my wits end

The upshot in your weight is most likely due to bodily fluctuations. You're probably retaining water or some such. Is it close to your time of the month? Have you had more sodium recently?
Don't worry about it. Fluctuations are normal.
How quickly did you lose 39 pounds? How much have you been eating? How much exercise have you been doing? The weight gain is most likely normal fluctuations, i.e. from water retention, or simply the weight of food in your body that you haven't yet processed. But it could also be the results of losing too quickly--i.e your body is revolting against your "very strict" diet and trying to hold on to calories for sustenance. If you've been under-eating for weeks, that could be the culprit. So, again, how much have you been eating, and how much have you been burning?
First of all, only weigh yourself ONCE a day, in the morning, after you have releaved yourself on an empty stomach! Never ever ever weigh yourself mid day because our bodies tend to fluctuate 3 to 5 pounds every day due to our water & food consumption! Secondly, it seems as though you may not be eating enough. You stress that you hardly eat anything... and when people don't eat enough, their bodies hoard calories and keep weight because they think they are going into starvation... it would really help if you detailed what you eat on this diet of yours so we can evaluate and see if you are eating too little calories for all the exercise you are putting in... Also... you may not know it but sometimes people snack without knowing what they are doing, tasting someone's food here, trying a sample there... etc... so having a food journal would be great (not just this website, because you cannot whip it out when you want to jot down the few nuts you ate earlier...
Get on those scales once a day if you want.............but stay away from them the rest of the day and night! It just messes up your mind and is really not significant to the overall picture. I have finally overcome the scale addiction but still weigh every morning, same time, same place.

Turns out it was water retention. I tried the not weighing myself thing and found it impossible to concentrate on anything else. I appreciate all of you help though xxx
