huh?...(a tird in heing)
For goodness' sake... You have grown an inch, not gained an inch!!! Growth is good. Growth is good for you. Be happy and rejoice, your body is working all right!!!
Your bones are one inch longer (together, not each one of them), so your skeleton is bigger. The point is to keep the height-to-weight ratio in the normal range, not to weigh the same at whatever height.

I grew an inch, too. :-)
Go change your profile and then recalculate your BMI. By growing, your BMI has gone down! It's better thn weight loss!
I was kind of nervous when my height changed, not because I didn't like the increase in height, but because I really didn't like to think that the extra weight had actually compressed my spine!

I grew half an inch.
As I understand it, your weight compresses your spine. Losing the weight uncompresses it and you grow :)
And cmillington's right about the benefits. :)
My poor skin...get it to stop stretching out, and now it has to stretch up ;)

i think it can be a little diffrent on everyone..
but for me..i can get away with an extra 5-10 pounds when i have grown in the past. (same girth - just taller and heavier)

This is the coolest "side effect" I've heard from losing weight! I hope I grow an inch, or half inch, or anything!
omg! i had no idea that could happen!!! i want to grow an inch, that's awesome!
Ach! If I grow an inch, I will offically be way to ginormously tall! I'd be 6 FOOT! Aaaaaaaaaaaa!
I grew an inch too!!! Doc says it's probably just better posture from working out! yay! I'll take it!!!!
I'm not a doctor but I do remember reading in a textbook that women will continue to grow into their early 20s. Personally, I didn't stop growing until I was 21. On my wedding day (I has just turned 20) I was 5'4" and a year later I was 5'6" and some change.
I just turned 30 and for kicks I tried on my wedding dress. It still fit but was 2" off the floor. It looked really funny.
Keep up with the healthy lifestyle, enjoy your fruits & veggies and get plenty of exercise. :) Just relax and trust nature to do what's right for your body.

oh, maybe that's why I grew to 5'2'' this year ...
