I signed up yesterday, and am really enjoying the site. everyone seems very nice and supportive! I love being able to read and comment, and give support! (Lord knows I need some!)
So just a little intro!!! :)
My name is Deana. I am 27 and live in South Florida.
I am 5'4", and have about 80-85lbs to loose, and have been crying about it for 5 years now. I am finally serious.
I go to a gym regularly for the past 3 weeks. I am trying to eat healthier, and will post more about that in my diet log thing! so far no change I can see, but I am trying to keep going. I really need that instant gratification thing, but trying to hold on. :)
Well, thats all I guess! Please feel free to add me as a friend if you want!
:) Deana

Hi Deana. I too have about 80 lbs to lose. I exercise and walk at home and know that I would not go to a gym or fitness center if I were to join, so I walk in place to a video I have and I have been off and on diets most my adult life. I too am stuck to changing the way I eat and think about food which is a hard task when your favorite food all your life is junk food, but I have to do it or I will be one of those people everyone stares at when you are at the mall, and if they are going to stare, it is going to be because I am hot, not because of my obesity. LOL I would be willing to keep in touch with thoughts, complaints, suggestions through e-mail if you would like. I am in Illinois by the way. Let me know through my e-mail if you wish to talk through e-mal. I am a bit older than you (45) but maybe your youth and my maturity can help each other out. Thanks.

Hi ladies, I too am in the 80 lbs range that I want to lose. I expect it to take a fairly long time, but have seen some results in the past 2 weeks that I have been doing my thing! No fancy diets or programs just back to basics for me. I am just being very consious of what I put in my mouth reading labels and keeping to about 1800 calories a day if I can. So far so good! My biggest change over all the other times I have Yo-Yoed up and down is I am using the bike and the treadmill we have here in the house. I think that is going to be finally what really does it for me, at least I hope. I am finding out the feeling I get from exercising makes me want to exercise more which is not really a bad thing. My wife and I have been really encouraging each other that helps also! Keep it up!
Dave
Hi Deana! nice to see you here! :)

leesha-i too am in illinois.. where abouts are you?
Hi Deana,
I just signed up today as well. I know what you mean about "instant gratification." Just tell yourself that even though results won't come overnight, each day that you eat right and do some kind of exercise is making you healthier! You will feel better and have more energy each day.
I am also down here in South Florida. Just moved here last year. How long have you been down here?
I wish you loads of success in your weight loss endeavor. Be diligent but have fun too!
Lynne
Hello everyone :)
I'm also in Illinois, looks we have a few of us here. I'm closer to the St. Louis area :)
