I'm on my second diet and new to Calorie Count. A little bit about me - I'm 5'5, 27 years old, no kids or pets with a wonderfully supportive boyfriend. I went on my first diet last year (a boot camp class for 12 weeks) and lost about 20 pounds and 10 inches. Dropped from 195 to 175, and a size 16 to a size 12. I've gained it all back (+3 pounds :( ) so I'm back in the boot camp class again starting tonight. Its only for 10 weeks this time, but hopefully it will kickstart me back into doing right. I used to be pretty tiny (about 120-125) in my late teens, but have slowly gained over the years. My goal weight is 125, but I would be happy if I got to 135. Looking forward to seeing those first few pounds drop off!!
Welcome back to CC and I wish you nothing but the best of luck.
I am stuck just above the 200 lb. mark (though I gained 8 lbs. this weekend from being pretty bad on Sunday). I'm trying something called zig-zagging to help avoid any plateaus. I also need to start working out. :)
Welcome to CC!!! YOu will love this site. You'll find lots of useful information and it's a great tool to keep track ofyour calories IN vs calories OUT.
I love it!
Hope to see ya post around the forums soon!

Yes, welcome indeed.
This is a great site, I have lost from 160 to 148 on this site so far this year without doing anything crazy. I eat well, drink lots of water, exercise daily.
I think that logging my weight every morning and watching the graph has been so motivating.
I also appreciate all the advice and support.
Good luck on your healthy journey.
Sue..
Hey and welcome! One thing I've learned on here, whatever you do, make sure it's sustainable! I know I couldn't do boot camp for the rest of my life. It sounds like a great jump start, but make sure you have a plan for how you're going to keep burning those calories off when you're done with it- otherwise, your weight will increase again. I'm sure you'll find tons of support on here to do just that. ![]()
Hi! I am also new here! I just signed up ten minutes ago! I'm not really too sure as to how this site works but def. need the support and motivation from everyone! It almost seems like i've just come out of a closet after a year with like 40 extra pounds on! I've began getting off of a pretty strong anti-anxiety/depressent and it's showing me every single pound i've gained with it...so this is going to be hard to lose it! I'm almost hitting 200, which is by far the heaviest i've ever been, and want to lose it! I've always been thicker, but toned and lean, this..pouch business...not cool! So whatever advice anyone has to offer me on exercise or etc..i'd be thrilled. Thanks!![]()
First of all, it is not about dieting! Diets do not do anything but set people up to fail. It is about a commitment to change yourself and your lifestyle. It is about eating healthy and doing things that are good for your body. Food is a fuel that runs our bodies and we eat to keep it running well! If you eat unhealthy, your body suffers. If you eat healthy you can feel the difference. So change your thoughts first and I know you will reach your goals. It took me until I was 45 to figure this out even though I worked in Nutrition for a school district for 10 years! I was great at telling people what to eat but not following what I knew to be right! I have lost 60 lbs and have 43 more to go according to this site! YES IT TOOK A COUPLE OF YEARS....but the weight has stayed off. This site has helped me tremendously because when you log what you take in it gives you a totally new perspective....I first learned that I was not taking in enough calories(which I kinda knew!) so I had been stuck at one weight for 6+ months. I started walking 3 miles a day and increased my calories and after 3 weeks my metabolism began to change. The weight is coming off. Please remember....this is for you! Change your thoughts and you will benefit as well as your body!
