hello everyone!
Hi everyone! I'm pretty new here, just joined a few days ago. So far, I think I'm doing *fairly* ok in the dieting department...altho' I could use a suggestion or two. ![]()
First of all, my husband & I go out to eat breakfast nearly every day; if we miss that, then it's out to lunch or an early dinner. We have eight kids, but they range in age from 20-30; a couple are married, half are out of the house, the rest can butter their own bread, obviously...so I don't need to cook every night like I used to.
The trouble is, I have a very bad habit of eating nearly everything on my plate, even if I'm almost full, only because it might be delicious and it's still there, if you know what I mean. Also, if I mention that I am getting full, he will try to add to my plate anyway, saying "try this" or "I know you like this", etc. ~ thereby making it harder for me to push the plate away.
I love that he is like a male bird, offering food to his mate, but it's nearly to the point that I want to scream at him to "please stop"! I know he only means well, but it doesn't help at all...sometimes adding a couple of hundred calories to my plate even tho' all I ordered is egg beaters & dry toast.
If I do, he adds his hash browns to my mix...
Other than asking up front for a box & cutting my portion in half before I begin eating (which I try to do many times), any other suggestions? I need to lose nearly 90 lbs. and I need to get serious!!
