My name is Sapphire, I am 20 years old, my husband and I just had our first baby, a boy we named Caiden! :) BTW, I am new to this kinda site and have never blogged before and am technologically illiterate lol, so if I am doing anything wrong or you have any tips let me know! With that said, I guess I joined this site mainly to track my calories and such, however I am hoping maybe I could use this as a means for support as well since any time I have went on a diet or "short term" lifestyle change, I did it by myself and without anybody's help. I have been a yo-yo dieter and have had some success, but never long term as I would finally like to accomplish. My highest weight was at 250 about 5 or 6 years ago. When I hit that 250 mark I said enough and actually did lose quite a bit of weight. Over the couse of about 2 years I dropped down to 185. Just before I met my husband 3 years ago I had finally gotten to my lowest weight ever, 173! I was so proud of myself, but as I became more comfortable around him the weight started to pack on again and off again and on and off for the last 3 or 4 years now. I had my baby this last June 21st (2009) on Father's Day! I started my pregnancy at 220 then lost 35 pounds due to really bad morning sickness and now being postpartum I am 220, I guess I broke even!
Well that's it in a nutshell I guess, I am really sick of being overweight and feeling like crap about myself as we all are, so any tips, advice or if you just want to vent and share your own story with me I would gladly listen.
Thanks for reading my 1st ever blog lol
;)
Hi my name is brittney and I too am 20 years old and i will be expecting my little one in feb of 2010 so i still have a little way to go but I have already gained 10 pounds and am only about 11 weeks :( i dont eat any more than i used to and i eat really healthy so im not to sure why this is happening...when did you gain most of your weight?....im not sure if you are breast feeding but they say it burns 500 calories per feeding so im sure that would help out alot. have you been able to exercise at all yet?
~britt
I started to gain weight i my 7th month, I wasn't showing hardly at all untill my sixth month though. I think part of the reason why I wasn't gaining much is because like you said, I never changed my diet, in fact I think I was eating healthier until the last trimester when literally all I wanted was ice cream! Right before I gave birth though I was like 250 and I cried and cried because there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. Now I am 220 which is okay for now but I am trying really hard to lose more. No, to answer your question, I am not breastfeeding, I really wanted to so I could burn those extra calories but I just ended up not being comfortable with that. If you choose to I give you a lot of props because everyday I wish I was able to give my baby something healthier, as a new mom I am finding out I just want the best for him and I cant forgive myself when I am unable to provide the best
If there is anything you need or questions about your pregnancy, don't hesitate to ask and best of luck this will be the most exciting and frighting experience of your life but it is soooo worth it!!!!
hey,
I am 21 recently (june) and i have two children. im not an expert on this but even breastfeeding although it burns a lot of calories you have to eat to continue to produce milk, just like with twins you have to eat a lot of calories per day in order to feed them the right amount of food. I have a daughter who is almost three and a son who is almost one. Personally brittney, i gained weight quite like you with my first daughter...it doesnt necessarily have to do with what you eat its just part of pregnancy i gained weight with my daughter no morning sickness and still didnt show anything until i was five months with her. with my son by my third month my stomach was already in the shape of about a five month first time pregnant person (every person is different but they say with each child after the first you get larger quicker cuz your body already knows what to do.) with my daughter i got pregnant at 104lbs and gave birth at 134 with my son i got pregnant at 115 and gave birth about 140. but i wouldnt get stressed over it they do say it takes 9 months (really 10) to put it on and 9 to take the weight off. Calorie count has really helped me I have lost about 18lbs over a long time since i didnt use it religously as i should of in the beginning. i currently am back on track and have lost more weight and have 5 to go to my goal weight and maybe i will go an extra 5 to be exactly where i want at 115. You girls will do just fine dont worry. I strongly suggest walking during pregnancy it helps with birth (so does doing the do with your significant other ;) ). I didnt rip or tear down there with either child. I wish you both success, i know that you guys will be successful, and remember being pregnant although it sucks gaining weight you shouldnt try to loose it it can be harmful to the baby. I look forward to reading more from you ladies!. saphc what types of food do you eat and excercise do you do?
Well right now I am doing absolutely nothing in terms of working out and I am trying to eat alright, I have been been doing not so well lately. I think the things I eat are relatively healthy, but its portions that I suck at! I eat cheerios, or oatmeal or toast for breakfast with fruit if I have some, lunch, I have no idea what I eat, dinner, I am not so sure either, yogurt or parfait, pasta, pb&j,mac&cheese, fruit, are all things I eat regularly, I have been eating more salad lately. I eat a lot of carbs and try to eat fruit. I honestly can't afford to buy more than $30-$40 max a week on groceries for me and my husband, sometimes all we can afford is $20 a week, so we kinda get the cheapest with most quantity and that's not always healthy, but we do try to get healthy things.
