Hello - Newbie here :-)

I am fairly new here - started officially on the 17th. I am 5'3", weighed 162 at beginning of week - am 51 years old, most likely in early stages of menopause, weight is all sitting in stomach and hips area and I hate it. Growing up, I could eat and eat and eat and not gain a thing - I always complained I could not find jeans that fit the way I wanted - be careful what you wish for. The only complaint I have with my jeans now is that i have to wear long shirts to cover up the tummy area. I am now back on my treadmill a minimum of 5 days a week, watching my numbers, portion/serving size, cut down my soda intake HUGELY, etc. My husband and I have agreed that by the end of the year if I do not see a improvement in my numbers then we will get rid of the treadmill as it is in my bedroom and I will just stick with the better eating habits. I really want to lose some weight and am praying that i can do it this time. If anybody has any advice, I would love to hear it. Smile

Hi Trisha,

I started with CC on the 17th also.  So far I find that it is an extremely useful tool.  It took me until today tho to figure out how I add friends to my list.  I am 50 and have already had the luck to have gone thru the change.  It completely changed my metabolism.  I am having to relearn what works for me and what doesn't.  I am making a concerted effort to be healthy again and to like myself in a bathing suit again!
