HELP! Adive on Appropriate Calorie Intake
Hi. While I'm not new to CC, this is my first posting. I know tons of people ask this question, but I am going to ask it again. Any advice would be appreciated.
I am 5'3", 125 lbs. I used to be 117 and would like to lose 5 to 10 lbs by the summer and was wondering how many calories I should be eating. My activity level is sedentary, but I run 7 miles a day. I have been doing this for a while and so I think my body has become used to the activity (therefore not burning as many calories as it could). Anybody with similar stats/situations have some advice as to how many calories I should be eating? 1200 calories, 1300 calories? What worked for you?
I've been using CC for a couple of months now and haven't seen any real change. If anything, I think I'm a few pounds heavier!
Totally forgot my age. I am 25 years old.
I am 5'3 and 26 years old. My current weigh loss started at 134 and now about 118 and hoping to stay there. One thing I have learnt here is to give your body the nourishment it needs. The deficit you create in exercise doesn't necessarily translate into weigh loss on the scale at least. You body just hoards it. I am sedentary as well but I climb stairs twice a day for 20 minutes (40 in total), eat my BMR which is approx. 1340, take lots of water, I am rarely hungry and I still lose weight and I am happy. I get a deficit of about 500calories each day. You don't have long to go. I would suggest you eat more for the 7 miles you put in (at least 1500).
I hope it helps.
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
