**help! anyone!** weight going up n down??!!?
So i have become confused since i started my diet, because i started in weighing 162lbs. Now i think i weigh 156.6lbs. The problem is, when am i suppose 2 weigh myself?? in the morning or night?? Because when i weigh myself in the morning i weigh exactly 156.6 n when i weigh myself in the nite i weigh 158. What is this?? why is this happening??and which one should i go by?? Does this happen to anyone else?? its been like this for 3 days now..
Also i been having snacking problems.. my weight loss plan is "counting calories" and not eating anything with too much fat or carbs.. but i tend to get these cravings n i dont kno how to curve them.. does anyone have any suggestions?? it always happens in the night after i eat dinner like at 9pm n i hate snacking so late. plz comment if u have similar problem or any suggestions or advice!! thanx**![]()
That's normal.
(Almost my exact same weights as well *laughs*)
You have to take into consideration that when you way yourself in the morning it's a "fresh start" nothing in your tummy, that kind of thing.
By the end of the day, you have eaten and drank and things like that.
As well your body weight can change a little depending on bloating, water retention and things. Normally they say there can be up to a 2-3 pound difference day to day.
Your best bet is to weigh yourself at the same time everyday, (ONCE a day) and stick with that same time every day. Therefore if you weigh yourself tonight and you weight 158 and then weigh yourself the same time tomorrow night and you weigh 156, you know your body changed two pounds....
I perfer to weigh myself in the morning, (just because I'm lighter and that makes me happy) ;) BUT also because if I have a big meal or something for dinner, I might be 4 pounds more than I "actually" weigh.
For curving late night snacking I...
1. chew on celery stalks
2. do some exercise
3. drink a few bottles of water
4. brush my teeth (toothpaste tastes sweet and I don't want to have to brush my teeth again
)
5. go to sleep earlier.
6. watch some stand up comedy
thanx that was very helpful..![]()
obviously food & liquid has weight and since you're adding it to your stomach you're going to weigh that additional weight at night. I'd say weigh yourself just in the morning and forget the night weigh-in altogether.
Stopping snacking is all about self control. I don't think there is anything to really do...you just need willpower. It's not easy that's why there are so many overweight people walking this earth...we all crave food but some of us decide not to give in. Period.
I guess if you really need something try chewing gum or drink something low in cals. If I have a sweet tooth I settle it by having some yogurt instead of high calories ice cream or baked goods.
You should weigh yourself in the morning, 2 times a week after you wake up and "releave" yourself! Your weight will fluctuate throughout the day no matter what because you consume food and water... but don't worry, it happens to everyone and the next morning you should be back to where you started (or less) if you eat less than you expel (energy wise)...
eating at night for me is a 100% mental battle. if you have you have eaten your alloted calories, just tell yourself you are done for the day. period. no excuses. if it really is a huge problem, i would start planning for it with your cal intake.
If you want to see what a difference water can make, weigh yourself in the morning, first thing, right before and right after you pee. I usually weigh after, and one morning I was sleepy, weighed before, realized what I'd done, and weighed again after. Without feeling that I had passed an "unusually large volume" of urine, I still saw a 2.5 lbs difference on the scale.
I agree with the poster who said first thing in a.m, after using the toilet. It's about as consistent as you can get, given that the bulk and volume of food each day will affect your evening weight and make it harder to see what's going on.
Good luck.
What type of food should not be eaten?
Calorie Count does not prescribe a particular diet or tell people to avoid particular foods. We only ask that you eat a balanced diet... Read more
