For the past 2 months I have been counting calories, eating anywhere between 1400 and 1700 and working out 3-5 days a week. I do a Spinning class 3 times a week (sometimes adding in an extra class on the weekend if I know im going to be eating more than usual) and doing a "military muscle" class at the gym.

However I have maintained my current weight, I havent gained or lost a pound! I know the first thing people are going to ask is "are your clothes fitting better?" Nope! Nothing has changed! I took my measurements when I started and at the end of every month I take them again and still nothing!

I dont know whats going on and why nothing has changed! I burn around 500 cals doing the spin class and come out just soaked in sweat! I just dont understand. I always over estimate my calories just in case this site isnt entirely accurate, but I still never go over 1700, whats going on!?

If you've been restricting calories for two months there is a possiblity that your body has learned to adapt on less food.  It's a pretty common thing when people overestimate calories or when they've been on low calories very long-term.  Also very common is the problem of 'eating more than you think', underestimating calorie-intake, so make sure you're keeping your food diary accurately, weighing and measuring foods rather than guessing and preparing your own foods rather than relying on restaurants or things out of packets.  If you're a healthy weight now (BMI below 25) then further progress could be slow.

If your calorie counting is accurate and you're still overweight the best solution to your problem is to work out your full energy needs ('total burn' in CC-speak) and then eat that amount of calories for a couple of days.  A weekend can be appropriate.

You will know if the strategy has worked because you will feel very hungry the next day.  Resume weight-loss by going with a calorie target about 700 cals below your total burn.... no lower than that.  Eat/snack regularly, get a good balance of different wholefoods, drink plenty of fluids, be patient.

Thanks so much for the reply. I think I will try that this weekend and see if it helps! And maybe invest in a food scale to make sure I am accurately counting my calories!
