Help Calorie goal burn meter eat meter?

I think I have this right but someone tell me if I'm right?  My eat meter - daily goal reads  Daily Goal 1850 (the small number)  I know the big number means how much I eat so for and have logged in,  My question is if my daily goal says 1850 and I've only eaten 1661 and my burn estimate says 3130 do I need to eat more?

Calculate your BMR and never eat below the number of calories it states.  I am not positive the ones calculated on this site are actual BMR calculations.  If you eat less than your BMR you will slow down your metabolism.

Your daily goal is just the number you picked (or CC helped you pick) to help you achieve the proper deficit to lose the weight

if your burn is 3130 -- then your deficit (at 1661) is almost 1600 -- clearly more than the recommended maximum of 1000 -- so yes, you should eat more.

Is 3130 your normal burn?  If so, then you will want to change your eat goal to at least 2130.  To change your target goal, go to "My Account -> Edit Settings (underneath your picture).  Page down almost to the activity level settings and simply change your target calorie number -- then make sure you submit (to save it)

nosouix thank you for responding my bmr is 2200 and it is fairly acurate on this site I have used the site you just gave me and also another that I find more helpful for logging my workouts. 

Coach_k my burn is not always that much but on days when I work out it is some where around 3000-3300.

I have done a spread sheet of my stats and have been weighing every day to see if I could find a pattern.  What I'm finding is that when I approach the 2000-2200 range the next day I seem to lose (even when I don't exercise that day?  So is this what they keep talking about the starvation mode thing?  In my effort to lose weight am I eating too little! 

 

I imagine you are a long way from starvation mode -- however, you probably are eating too little.  You are obviously doing some pretty intense exercise to push your burn up into the 3000 cal range (I wish I could get there) -- and you will need to eat more to be able to continue doing that and let your body repair itself.

At sedentary, I have your CC burn of 2000 and your BMR as 1649 using this calculator -- just curious, what sites did you use to figure your BMR?

Wait, My bmr is 1649? I used this calculator and got a different number.  I'm actually 5'2.5" so may be why the difference.   I'm not sure I know what the difference is between cc burn and bmr.  Since I have my settings on light activity cc tells me 2200.  So where do I get my number to start figuring my deficit. The cc burn, my bmr?  I guess that is my main question?  Currently I am using 2200 then adding my exercise calories then subtracting my eating calories to get my daily deficit?  Is that right?  I just want to know where to aim for in my calorie intake to get a 2 lb a week weight loss (which as I understand it is the standard healthy weight loss goal)

pjlittlefr - cc burn is not the same as BMR. BMR is how much you burn in a coma, and you can find it with the site that nosouix linked to, or try www.phord.com/cc

The formula is that once you have BMR, you multiply it by 1.2 (or 1.3, depending on the formula used) to get the amount you burn at sedentary. So if you have your CC account settings set to sedentary, you'll have a CC burn of BMR*1.2 (CC does this calculation for you, and doesn't EVER show BMR). If you set your account to higher than sedentary, the multiplier is higher.

If you are lightly active throughout the day (you aren't desk-bound) and then you add exercise to that, you are using the burn meter correctly. But if "light activity" reflects your level of exercise, then you need to either not log exercise separately, or change to sedentary and log exercise.

Also, depending on your stats, you might want to aim for just a pound of loss per week. I know that seems frustratingly slow, but the truth is that some people's bodies can't handle 2lb/week loss. It's a personal thing - some can and some can't.
