[HELP] Calories of corn on cob

Quote  |  Reply

I posted this question ont the calorie counting forum, but nobody answered, so I will post it here again...

I have been eating 1 corn no cob per day for the past 3 days, so when logging it into my food log I start wondering if anyone has weighted your corn on the cob, how many grams does a medium size corn on the cob weight? and the cob?

I'm not sure whether the calories on CC is correct...it seems underestimating the weight & calories to me...

If you have a scale yourself, you can determine the weight of the corn by weighing it whole and then subtracting the weight of the cob after you eat the corn.

Sorry, I can't be more helpful than that because I haven't had corn on the cob in a while!

when you type in corn, there is an option for a small, medium, or large ear of corn, so you should be able to guesstimate.

Otherwise as the previous poster said, a food scale is your best option.  That will give you the most accurate count.

To use as a comparison to what's on this site, here are the listed calorie values for corn on the cob at KFC with no butter added......

3" cob = 70 cal

5.5" cob = 140 cal

Hope that helps!

I just weighted my corn (before, and the cob after finishing the corn), so for a large size of corn on the cob, the whole thing weights 393 grams, and the cob itself weights 154 grams, so it means the the corn itself weights 239 grams.
