I joined CC not really to loose weight but to eat healthier, and I wanted to tone up I had a Flabby belly (4 daughters and premenopause).i only ate one meal a day with a few snacks in between, I was always to busy to eat.  I didn't exercise at all except  at work.  So then I started trying to eat more and healthier watching to be sure I stay in A to B grade. Eating 7819 calories a week. Well if I add my work which is a nursing like job, I work in a Group home for the mentally challenged general hygiene passing medication and, lift transfers, changing depend on total wheel chair non-ambulatory  resident 1.5hrs.. I assist others with general house cleaning, cooking dinner, laundry, bed making, mopping floor etc. 3hrs., walking 30 min., bicycling 30 min., Richard Simmons work out DVD 1 hrs., grocery shopping 2.5 etc. I don't add in any home actives unless I walk or do my Ab-lounger. If I add all that in I am burning 10315 a week. Is this okay or do i need to eat more. I am not loosing weight  (in am I weight 144-146, at night I weight 146-148). And I am not Loosing Inches I am remaining the same. What am I doing wrong? How can I tone? I don't have access to weights, or exercise equipment (except for Ab-lounge I do sit ups, crunches, leg lifts and walk at home, every other day). Thanks for your help!!

In response to your question:

1. You are at a healthy weight for your height. You don't need to lose anything. So why are you trying to maintain such a large deficit between what you burn and what you eat?

2. You are not losing weight because you are eating much too little. 7819 calories a week isn't even healthy for someone who's short and sedentary, much less someone of your height and activity level. I would recommend increasing calorie intake to at least 9000 or 10000 calorie per week, especially in high protein foods.

Your low calorie intake is probably also preventing you from gaining muscle and toning up. Your body is reluctant to expend energy on building new muscle at the expense of its fat stores because it thinks you're starving.

3. If you want to build muscle and burn fat, you will need to do some resistance training in addition to eating more lean protein. This will be especially effective if you work the large muscle groups, e.g. booty and legs. You don't need weights or exercise equipment to do it; just a couple dozen squats and lunges every other day will work wonders. Looking to tone up arms? Push-ups are a tried and true way to work many of the muscles in the arms and chest.

I hope my advice will be of assistance. Congratulations on your progress so far; you're not far from healthy eating.

Like I said I am not trying to loose weight I want to loose inches and tone. I also said I did not eat healthy at all before. I learned that, when I was lucky, on a good day,  I ate 500 calories  and did the same activity level I am now. Some days I would log on and realize I had only ate  a candy bar for that day.  So my calorie intake is a lot better (1100) now but there is no way I can eat 1400 calories a day. I would be eating all day I have a hard time now, remembering to stop and eat. When I was 23 I only weight 120 lbs soaking wet if i was lucky.  now that is too skinny. I don't ever want to weight that again but I do want to be toned.

I thank you very much for the advise and I will try to up my calorie intake.
