help chinese food date
Hubby and I are going to a favorite chinese restaurant that we haven't been to in a long time. My weight loss is going great and I really don't want to sabotage myself tomorrow night. At the same time I don't want to just eat veggies. Any suggestions on some of the healthier dishes I could order?

Eat a good amount of veggies to being with so you are more full and are not tempted to binge on the fattier stuff. Vegetable sushi sounds pretty good to me! Also, try eating your rice/noodles with chopsticks - if you're like me, it takes you a long time to eat with them and therefore you can't shovel down the food.
But otherwise, I say eat what you want. It's your favorite Chinese retsaurant, so reward yourself with reasonable portions of whatever the hell you like. Have a great time with your husband and don't let calories keep you from having fun. :)

Start with soup - perhaps not sizzling rice (you do know how they make that sizzle don't you?), but egg drop or hot and sour or wonton. Warm, and filling.
If you don't want to eat just veggies, all of your stir fry entrees are going to run about the same number of calories, as long as you avoid the deepfried things (like most sweet and sour pork) although shrimp might be slightly lower in calories. Many of our local restaurants have sauteed , steamed or braised dishes. In addition to the chopstick idea, get a dish that takes time to assemble and eat such as chicken in lettuce cups, or mushu pork. No chow mein. Steamed rice not fried. If you have a little time today, use this site to investigate choices, which is what I did last night before dinner to figure out how much crab I could have.
Some people eat to live, I live to eat (as wisely as I can in the moment.)

many restaurants have a 'dieters' menu, where you can order some of the same items, (for ex. chicken with broccoli) but they are steamed instead of fried, and the sauce comes on the side you can control how much you consume. if they don't offer it specifically, i would just request your food steamed, and the sauce on the side.
