help diet coke cake !!
I want to make this cake do you sub all wet ingredents even water?
2 ingredients.. cake mix and diet pop.. that's it.. don't add oil, eggs, or water.. nothing but cake and pop.. :)
i never heard of this cake , all you do is add the mix and a can of diet coke and bake it , and it works ? and taist good also ?lol sorry just in shock over this one , let me know thanks kimberly
i've made it several times.. it is fantastic.. my favorite is lemon cake with diet 7up.. i've heard that pops made with splenda taste better because splenda doesn't break down when baked.. :) i've never made it with a pop that's got aspertame in it.. so i don't know
I was in shock too but it really works! And you don't need icing (added calories), it's that moist.
My mistake, I cut it and put it away before it cooled, so it made a mess. Allow the cake to cool before storing.
Even the batter was delish! And I hate diet coke, I used Coke Zero...

Dont add coke with aspametene and the heat breaks it down and makes it bitter...use diet with splenda ...
I like chocolate cake with Sunkist. So yummy. But yeah, it totally works. Definitely take our word for it. If I'm feeling especially indulgent, I use lite cool whip as a topping.
ok thank you everyone , i well use the coke with splenda , i love that coke , and ill make it tonight and im telling no one here in my house , im going to do a taist test with them ,lol i have big house of people , should be great thanks kimberly

I made the cake told no one about the dite coke..THEY LOVED it
I have to try this! I have not allowed myself choc cake in months and I sooooo want a piece. How many cals is this per serving?
About 170 cals per slice, go by the dry serving on your box, amazing! I even got one with chocolate chips!
I don't know what kind of aspartame you guys are using, but frankly, I live for aspartame. It didn't make my cake the LEAST bit bitter. And if you drink regular old Diet Coke, then you're drinking aspartame.
And if you're one of the few that STILL think Aspartame causes cancer, read this please and spread the word:

I thought Aspartame WAS Splenda, that's why I got the coke zero!
gemini.. i don't think aspartame is particularly gross.. i'm not against artifical sweetners. but 2 things.. some people are sensitive to it and i am one of them (get achey joints and stuff when i have too much) and the chemicals in it break down with heat that is why they advise you don't bake with it.. it can taste bitter after heating.. splenda does not break down with heat and stays sweet.. but i wouldn't think it' would make much difference in a diet coke cake.. just repeating what i heard.. i've never tried it cuz i can't have aspertaime.. :)
i'll make a little comment here. try and look for the mix without the partially hydrogenated oils - they are linked to cancer, diabetes, and heart attacks i know it's almost impossible though :(
Why doesn't anyone use regular Coke? It only adds 12 cals per serving -- which is a big slice.
Oh and I also tried vanilla cake with cream soda -- yummy!

i don't use regular because i always have diet on hand.. :)
or, better yet, has anyone tried it with sparkling mineral water? just a thought...
I was wondering the same thing... other sparkling beverages to use in cake?
