help....i don't know my activity level

Quote  |  Reply

I'm basically having a problem I don't know my activity level, hence the title. I workout for about 30mins everyday, and I go for walks as well for 20-30mins a day. am I sedentary? I do sit at home on my computer or watch TV in the mornings. but the problem is when I eat my calories that are in correlation with my activity level, sedentary, for maintenance I lose weight which is about 1497cals. so maybe I'm lightly active which would make 1700cals my maintenance not 1497. I'm confused. I'm 19 and 5ft3.7 and about 111.2lbs, I passed my goal weight which was about 113lbs down from 117lbs.

please any advice would be appreciated.

Sedentary means you sit on your butt all day and do nothing. I'd say you're active. Hope that helps!

thanks for the advice, i think I'm mostly likely lightly active. i'll up my cals and see what happens

You are either lightly or moderately active. Also, since you are still a teenager, keep in mind that your calorie needs are higher than an older person's.

When I plug your stats into this calorie calculator as "a little more active" (it offers clearer activity levels than the one on this site), it says you burn an average of 1823 calories/day.

So, since you are at the bottom of the healthy range for your height, you should definitely up your cals to at least 1800, and more if you continue to drop weight. Hope this helped!
