Help! I don't know if my goal is healthy!!

Quote  |  Reply

I'm 5'3" with a medium frame and currently maintaining around 108 - 112 (the scale isn't the most ideal), is 105lbs a bad goal to strive for? It's not classified as underweight on the BMI for me, so I didn't think it would be bad, but my family and friends are NOT supportive at all and I don't know what to think now. Is 105 too low?

Although your BMI would be 18.6 and that's technically within the healthy range, it's very close to underweight. I personally wouldn't advise being so close to the border between healthy and underweight because you may appear overly thin, but if you have a small frame it might suit you. You already look gorgeous and with fluctuations 3-5 pounds probably won't make much of a difference. Good luck <3

I think if 105 were your natural weight it would be fine, but being that your weight is ALREADY healthy, slim, and effortless, it would be a detriment to your metabolism for you to attempt to lose a couple vanity pounds. I don't think 3 pounds will make a huge difference in the way you look but it could cause some very unhealthy and undesirable side effects internally. maybe focus on strength training and building muscle, this will put on pounds but will change the way your body looks.

 I agree with chrissy.

Thank you!! :D

i think your at a healthy size. but that doesnt mean that you can stop excersizing. i would update your goals and such to maintaining weight so that you dont gain or lose too much on purpose.
