HELP!! I have to eat out as part of my work

Quote  |  Reply

Hi There,

I am looking for advice. I run evening workshops on softskills in hotels all over the UK and the workshop begins with a buffet for the participants which I feel duty bound to partake of.

I don't organise the logistics and can have no real say in the menu offered.

What can I do to eat healthily and stay within my calorie limit when I have no real idea what I am eating?

As I am often away from home for a couple of days at a time I can't take food with me and anyway that would be a bit rude ("Well its good enough for you but not for me")

Any tips?

Bx

If this buffet food is repeated food, best to start taking note of what it all is. Then do some homework. Go online and find out the calorie counts for small portions of anything you recognize and approach it with the knowledge of how many calories you'll be eating.

Other than that, you should just stay away from anything fried and load up your plate with anything natural; fruits, veggies, greens, salads...

If you load up on those and have some 3oz of meat or something else, you should be fine!
