Help! Am I eating right?

Quote  |  Reply
I've been looking at my Nutrition Report for this month. It shows how much of each nutrient I've been taking in, but I've no idea of how much of each nutrient I SHOULD take in daily. Can someone help me out?

I don't know about the rest (it would be best to tell on a daily report) but 12g of fibre in a month is way too low.
Ying, it seems to me, without any real expertise on the subject, that a grade of A- certainly bespeaks good nutrition. I find the nutrition grade to be helpful to my food planning. Keep up the good work!
Ying, given that these are averages, you seem to be on the right track, with the exception of Fiber -- averaging on 12 a day is way low.

good job

I shoot for 50% carbs, 33% protein and 17% fat.  If I can't hit those exact numbers I try to make sure most of my cals are coming from carbs and that my protein % is higher than my fat %.  It's also recommended that a person get around 25-30g of fiber a day.
everything looks great! except the fiber which should be at least 25 grams!
It is typically recommended to be around 50-55% Carbs, 20-25% fat and 20-25% protein.

And yes, the fiber is really low.  You should be at about 24g if you are a woman and 35g if you are a man.

Hmm...there was a library post about the Calorie-Count.com diet that HK did a while ago, doesn't seem to be here anymore.  It listed all the values you needed for each category

Hang on is this in one day? I think 3778 grams of carbs is very high if so.  Or am I wrong?

thanks everybody. So I guess I'm doing fine except for fiber, which is too low. Well I think I'm eating more than 12 grams daily, but I might log in the wrong quantity because it's hard to estimate when I cook my own food.

Anyway I'll try to eat more fruits and veggies, though I really don't like them, especially raw veggies lollll

helenc, that's the stat for this month (3778 grams of carbs , that's 7 lbs!! ) And the daily value is the average of this month.

Ok sorry, I got confused.

I've got to say that these posts have helped me put a new prospective on the nutrional grade too! My fiber certainly is not where it should be!
