Okay, so for the past 5 days I have eaten like CRAP.

Literally. Pizza/MacDonald's/Booze/Nachos/Chips - WHATEVER. It's been a week-long food fest.

I've decided Sept 1 is my 'fresh start'.

I need to do something AS SOON AS POSSIBLE however to rid my stomach of all of this excess garbage food and the bloating that is my stomach. I am easily 5 lbs heavier right now than I was a week ago.

Any ' quick fixes ' someone can suggest to get the CRAP out of my system quickly so I can start fresh?

Oh my goodness! This is actually identical to the way I've passed the last few days and I'm also at least 5 lbs heavier now, not just water weight either, I'm talking serious, full on binge eating fat weight and I also decided that Monday 1st September will be my fresh start (new week, new month, great minds think alike eh?)

Anyway I've also been thinking of becoming vegan for a while so I think at the stroke of midnight I may commit to this decision or at least begin a bit of a trial of the vegan lifestyle. Maybe you'd like ot join me? Or if you aren't up for something that extreme you could try eating clean or giving up alcohol/refined sugar etc. completely?

I can't count how many fresh starts I've had up to now, let's help eachother stay on track :)

Absolutely!

Going vegetarian / vegan is something I've also been very seriously considering and I already have my Monday meal planned out which is a tofu & veggie dish.

I don't know if I can ever give up dairy completely, that's the only thing holding me back from veg vs. vegan.

Lets keep in touch! See if we can't get rid of this CRAP together ! ;)

I've been veggie for 7 years and it's never bothered me one bit, (well I guess I do miss haribo sometimes) I eat so much nonfat yoghurt and cottage cheese that I think I might struggle with this but I'm gonna do my best anyway.

If you aren't sure about making such a dramatic change you could always have a bit of a trial period, like try going vegan for a week or slowly cutting down from pescatarian to vege then to vegan maybe eliminating one more thing every month? Then it wouldn't be as much of a shock to your habits.

I've officially been vegan for an hour and a half now lol! Not that I've eaten anything since midnight (in England btw) but I still like my new vegan mindset.

There's really no proverbial magic pill.  Here's what I would do.  Drink a lot of water.  This will help flush impurities out of your system.  Eat lots of fiber, at least 30-35 Gs per day.  This will also help to flush that food out of your system.  Try to consume as little sodium as possible, and this definitely includes cutting out sodas.  And just combine this with healthier eating.

I went vegan for this past month (August) and I felt more bloated than usual...

That could just be me though.

We did the 3 day diet to jump start our new healthy life style. I wouldn't recommend staying on the diet but it did wonders to get me going in the right direction. Here is an article on webmd: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/the-3-day- diet

Good luck!

For those of you considering conversion to vege...The Book by Ornish,  Eat More, Weigh Less  is a good resource.  It takes into account healthy eating habits, what to eat and how often.  The benefits are hailed by the medical community.  He does include dairy in moderation, not sure if he has a vegan alternative though.

I have no experience with vegan other than my son claiming that once he is out of the house he will become vegan. He says that all clothing must be animal free as well too. Absolutely nothing that you consume or purchase should come from an animal.
