My eight year old cousin recently underwent tests at the hospital near his town, and we found out some shocking things.  He's  had severe learning problems his entire life, and we always associated it with ADD and dyslexia.  He had an MRI done, and the doctor found a benign cyst in the back of his brain about the size of a golf ball.  She said that they would eventually need to do surgery to remove it.  So we thought this was a big part of his problems, and that once it was gone, maybe things would get better.

Well they had to go to another doctor, where he had another MRI.  This time she found something worse.  Apparently his cerebellum never fully developed, so he just has a hole somewhere in his brain, which is where the cyst formed.  She said the it "might" be the problem with his learning issues.  She said there was no point in removing the cyst, because it would just fill up again, and there was nothing they could do.

But I'm still hoping there's something that can be done.  Sometimes doctors aren't aware of all the treatment methods.  If anyone knows of anything that could be done to help fix the damage, PLEASE tell me.  I'm desperate. Frown
