help can anyone help me figure it out and reach 149-150 lbs, i need a meal plan with the calorie please, i really need help and i would thank you so much!!!!!!!!!! :)
What are you eating now? Are you able to get treatment? I would think you would need at least 3000 maybe more. Many young guys need that just to maintain a normal weight so with you needing to gain it may take a lot. Regardless since you are loosing you need to eat more so I would encourage you today to start increasing. Your parents I am thinking are just concerned but hopefully they can support you to get well
The types of things i eat is organic yogurt and milk, oats, fruits and veggies, and peanut butter, hummus. Sometimes veggie burgers and the occasional ice cream. Can anyone help me?
If you are losing weight, then you need to eat more. If 2700 is not enough -- eat more. Maybe your body needs 3500 or more.
Whether your exercise is running or walk/jog that's a lot of miles and will burn a lot of calories. Maybe you need to cut them down at least until you can stop losing and get your weight back up.
There are a ton of thread on here about getting in more calories without feeling stuffed or bloated, take a look at some of them if you need ideas about food.
like abbi said, you should be consuming a bit more calories. I have your same problem in which according to my BMI I added a bit more in order to help me increase my weight, yet every single body is different and that 500 cal addition is just a referal. You should try to consume anywhere from 3000 to 3500 calories daily. Believe me, I know this is a pain and doing this will make you feel constantly bloated and probably even sick for the first couple of days (even weeks). Now the trick is to divide this up into several meals so that your not eating everything in three big scoops as in breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try either protein shakes to help you out during the "in between snacks", or make yourself a home made milkshake, including fruits and either ice cream/penut butter to add both flavour and quite an increase in calories which in the long run will be easier to consume.
Now as I stated before. This will seem like alot at first, but the trick is that eating constantly (every 3 hours more or less), will cause your metabolism to increase. I know that sounds like the oposite effect you desire, yet its a trick that can be used both for weight gaining or weight loss. The difference will be that the portions you will consume will be larger and more nutricious. In the end, because of this your stomach will get used to the intensity of your constant meals and thus, your apetite will increase and ask you for that amount of food when only days/weeks before you felt you were going to explode with that same quantity. The thing is then, to slowly start increasing the size and calory servings more and more.
I would suggest you completely stop jogging (unless its something you must do as if your in the school track team) and replace that for weight lifting. Muscle weighs more than fat in the end. Then keep your jogging or cyclying to 5 min as a warm up.
Hope this helps seeing as im in the same boat as you are.
thanks a lot for your answer guys and it has really help a lot.
Add some calorie dense foods too like almonds and lots of olive oil on your salads. Almonds are very easy to snack on throughout the day, I keep ziplock bags of them in my car and desk. Some red meat wouldn't hurt you either. You're a teenage guy, food and weight training are your friends... ![]()
thanks again and i am a vegetarian and the goal should be 3000 calories and see what happens. Thanks to all of you for your tips and i am going to walk in the gym and do weight training.
