Is any help out there?

Errrr...

When I have reached my first plateau I was devastated and not sure what to go for.

I was given 3 options which included sabotage and exercise. I felt like I was about to lose everything I have obtained so far.

I have lost about 15kg in less than 3 months (horaay!)

Very against my will I have joined  the gym and OMG!

Now I also have a personal trainer once a week to keep motivated.

I do about 60 minutes of cardio 6x a week and the whole work out thing once a week with my personal trainer.

Today was my class number 5 with her and I got all measured and weighted as I was first time.

Surprise surprise I have lost 19 cm all over my body, but annoyingly I haven't lost a single gram May 18.

I was already already about not losing any weight because the scale at home got stuck on my 86kg.

Is this the right way to go ?

Honestly I am devastated for not losing any weight but very excited for my measurement lost.

What is wrong? If there is any wrong because I don't think I have guts to do more that I am at the moment.

Not easy getting fit!

PS. I have also lost 0.66% of my body fat

I'm frustrated too... I've lost only a few lbs and some inches... way more inches than weight. I have to remind myself that (1) its about the inches more than the weight and (2) I AM making progress because my clothes fit better and I'm stronger.

Because I'm 10lbs heavier than I was the last time these clothes fit. But I'm trimmer.

I really want the scales to move down, because even though I look better, I know I'll look even better when those numbers move, and I'll feel better.

But I try to look at it like: I'm preparing to lose weight by getting strong, and building/strengthening muscles is going to add weight (I know, I know, you can't build on a deficit - except beginners, right? right?) Well that is what it MUST be! Because how else do you explain fat loss without weight loss?

You've lost body fat! that's weight! Just be patient (and move the sun and moon, right? gawd its so hard to be patient!) and stick to it and use the measurements that are moving - the scales and the body fat - to gauge your progress.

I think you should be thrilled at losing 15 kg in 3 months.  That represents about a 1000 kcal deficit per day, about the maximum "safe" weight loss.

Are you now close to your goal weight?  Or in a healthy BMI range?  If so, it seems perfectly sane to stop focusing on losing weight and continue focusing on gaining fitness.  The indicators are that you are certainly accomplishing that--losing inches and body fat %.

Since you are working with a trainer who can give you all this additional data I would abandon your fixation with losing "weight" and only focus on what you are gaining in terms of clothes size and fitness.

You probably need to look back at the food...  It's quite difficult to lose weight with exercise alone although it's possible to tone up - hence the loss in cms.

I have a feeling that if you lost 15kgs in less than 3 months you might have been on too low an intake to start with... or that you're still on too low an intake.  That's how a lot of plateaus start.  Get the balance right and you should see more progress..

Work out, using the CC calculator, what your total energy requirements are now with your new exercise regime.  (You'd qualify as a 'very active' activity level)   Spend the weekend getting that full amount of food as this could give your system a much-needed boost.  To start losing weight again, deduct 500-700 cals only from that number and go with that.

My average calorie intake in the last 3 months were:
April: 1447
May: 1145
June 1276
I was told I should reset my data and not consume more than 1200cal a day HERE, so I am trying hard to stick with it.

It's going to get harder to lose body fat considering your lbm has more than likely suffered on your 50 lb loss over the last 3 month, especially considering you weren't doing any exercise. I would suspect your consuming a pretty low calorie amount.

Your more than likely no longer in a deficit or a very small one, and with small binges periodically or other miscalculation can drastically hinder and stop any weight loss. You more than likely will need to start eating more to lose more fat, but the good news is you can build muscle and lose fat at same time in this scenario but your going to have to dedicate some time to weight resistance for this to happen, and not 5 lb dumb bells either. imo

As many people can better explain, you should definitely be eating far more than 1200 calories a day if you are exercising! This might be part of your problem. You might be starving your body. =/

Even if you are sedentary, nobody should be eating less than 1200 calories.

1200 isn't a maximum - it's a minimum.
