Hi meeshshelly,

I can sympathise with you as I am going through the same issues with focusing too much on how my tummy looks and that it is getting bigger. We just need to think about the positives of what we are going through and that by teaching our body to eat more again it will naturally have to go through the process of our tummy getting used to eating larger (but normal!) amounts of food and that over time, as it adapted to getting smaller, it will re-adapt to getting back to normal.

I also struggled with the dessert eating part but have learnt to just enjoy it as it tastes good and look at it as energy that my body needs to repair itself - recovery has some very tasty upsides to it!!! :)

Hope this helps - good luck!

Keep eating. The desserts have absolutely NOTHING to do with the way your stomach looks right now. All extra calories, no matter where they come from, are going to initially be stored as weight in your midsection. That's just the way it is. However, if you give your body time, your weight WILL redistribute and you will start to feel better about it.  Your body stores the energy first, and then uses it to rebuild and restore organs, muscle and such. It just takes time. Don't give up.

For now, try to learn to appreciate and enjoy what you eat, and allow yourself to become more comfortable with food.

thanks for the advice guys. i just have to keep telling myself that this is what i should be eating and right now its good for me. im definitly going to continue to eat - i will get through this.

thanks so much for your help.

good luck to both of u too!

xooo.

Rebelchick's comment is absolutely right. Your stomach will look bloated for a while, but it most definately will even out. If it's any consolation, I just upped my calories again and my stomach is as flat as it was when I was restricting - and I've gained weight (:

It gets easier - just try not to slip. I've slipped and it makes it harder to go back up and it just extends things. Just don't allow slipping to be an option. Youre low on calories? Don't allow it.

On another note, are you watching your sodium intake at all? I found when I drank more water/consumed less sodium, it helped the feeling of bloating (though I did still bloat :P).

Best of luck to ya!
