help! Is this okay?

Quote  |  Reply

okay so since i have a huge fear of carbs i tend to pick fruit and vegetables and light breads or legumes as my strach for each meal. I was just wondering normally it comes out to be that i have 23-25% carbs 35%-40% fat and 35-40% protein. Does this seem okay? i eat around 2,800 a day.

also, are carbs good for your metabolism? do they help speed it up? once i decreased carb intke i started gaining aloottttt quicker. thanks for your help!

The simple fact that you "fear" carbs is reason enough to eat them because avoiding fear foods perpetuates the ED mindset and doesn't allow you to fully recover.

From a health perspective you should be eating 50-60 percent carbs or thereabouts. Carbs are essential and not bad at all. As far as speeding up your metabolism goes... No single macronutrient speeds up your metabolism but eating an adequate and balanced diet does. You should not be eating "light" anything if your aim is to gain.

thanks so much i just cant get myself to eat carbs! ugh like i count everything (dairys and all) into my carbs and if i have over a certain amount i cant control myself and have the worst urges to excersise. i look at the what did you eat today forum and im so jealous that people have such strength and will power to just eat healthy carbs.
