Hi I am new and have lost weight before. I am having a hard time finding and keeping my motivation. I know if I don't get and keep the weight off this time it is certain death for me. I have watched my mom suffer from weight related issues and my ex mother in law die from the same. I don't want to die, not like this at least. Friends make promises to help and I buy all the gym equip to work out in privacy of my own home and they all are on the You look ok plan don't worry about it. what they don't realiize is I already am having some complications like phlebitis. I feel like a complete failure!!! I put the weight back on with a pregnancy and lost the baby a month before he was due and one year later I still can't take off the 127 pounds I need to loose. Can some one any one please help me !!!I feel like I am lost in space.

You gotta take it one day at a time.  Don't think about 10 years from now, or 2 years ago.  Think about today and what little thing you can do today to help you achieve your goal.

Take baby steps.  There is alot to think about, alot to do.  But do it one step at a time.  You can't do it all.

Do it the right way.  Get informed about how to lose weight in a healthy way.  Talk to a doctor or a nutritionist about what you can do.  Learn how your body works and how you can work with your body to lose the weight.

Set small goals.  Don't see it as 120 lbs.  See it as drinking x amount of water in a day, or exercising x amount of hours in a week or in a month.

It gets very overwhelming when you look at the entire picture so you need to break it down
What bigtwinky just said.

I wish you luck - anytime you need help or advice just post - there are a lot of supportive, friendly, even loving people on this site.

So.......welcome.
thanks  for the suggestions And big twinky you hit the nail on the head I want the over night fix cause I feel as if all of it went on over night. I am going to set daily goals. I currently am at 241 and am 5ft 6 in. my Goal is to get to 114-125 I walked on the tread mill for 20 minutes today and did some resiustance training with the weights. I love exercising I just can't seem to get motivated. I love the way I feel after a work out. but I am a single mom of five and a full time student. I am 36 and am completely obsessive about the numbers on the scale and beat my self up terribly if the numbers don't go down and worse if they go up. I am gonna make a commitment to weigh in only once a week and go from there.
Quick wins when you start are cutting out the junk food.  No fast food at all, at least for the first 3-4 months until you can get a grip on things.  At that point, you should have a better understanding of what to eat and what not to.

Drink alot of water.  Over 2 litres a day (70 oz in the US I think).  Water is essential.  Alot of people lose a bigger amount of weight at first, and its mainly due to water they were holding.  But to see 6-7  lbs in the first few weeks is a great motivator.

No more soft drinks.  Or if you want, switch to diet.

I could go on and on, but I highly suggest you click on this link and read the top 3 posts.  Plenty of information in there to help you out.

Just keep in mind that things that are worthwhile are hard to do.  They take time and patience.  And you, my friend, are totally worth while so take the time and have the patience to see it through.  Many have done it, more are still doing it, so can you.

Oh god, that sounds like a Hallmark card.
lol @ bigtwinky signin up for a new job! Welcome to cc mabear. You'll find tons of support right here in the forurms. The knowledge shared amongst cc'rs is amazing. Find a water bottle, and hang on cuz you're in for the ride of your life! If I can get rid of weight, YOU can too!
calorie count is here for you.  all of us are.  if you are having a bad day, tough time, confused about something, we are here.  This is a great motivational group.  I too am obsessed with the scale, but you will begin to learn that it will fluctuate, that's just the body.  And take into consideration what the tools are telling you!  If it says you need to eat 1500 calories, then do so (or whatever your number may be).  If you get stuck, or hit a wall, it's okay!

I have been here for quite some time, dieting since last July, and to date I have lost 101.4lbs.  Time will fly by before you know it, and your biggest motivators will be shopping!  Buying a new pair of jeans a size down feels SO good.  Set yourself mini goals!  And if you dont hit them right on the head, its okay because theres always tomorrow.

You said you have 127lbs to lose, right?  When you lose your first 10, reward yourself with something you've been wanting.  When you see that scale drop below the 200 mark, do something even greater.  You set your own goals.

I heard someone mention linking paperclips for each pound lost... that sounds like fun!

Also get your kids involved in helping you pick out fruits and veggies so you have a support group by your side that you can eat with.  And always remember what is important, your health for you and your family.
