So I overate by 2-3 times as many calories as i should have today.. and yesterday I was pretty bad as well. Should I eat less for the next couple of days to balance it out so overall my calorie intake for the week is normal?

You should never eat less than a 500-700 calorie deficit. You will actually lose more weight if you have a couple of bad days in the middle of many good days. You will be fine. I got off of being stuck by having a bad weekend entirely. Eat like you would to normally lose the weight without those bad days. You're fine!

However I weighed myself this morning and I was a whole 4 lbs heavier..its just discouraging to gain back in one day weight that it took me 2 weeks to lose.

Most of that weight is most likely water. Just eat your normal diet. Just dust yourself off and keep going!!

I did the same thing too this week. I am now 4-5 lbs heavier. Just stay focused and do not be too hard on yourself. :)

Go back to your normal intake goal, don't eat less than that. Chalk it up to experience. Figure out why you ate so much (are you not eating enough on your plan, and therefore getting terribly hungry? was there some other trigger?).

Don't worry about any gain from those days, that's in the past. The goal is to make each day pretty stable and sustainable, meaning no huge variations in calories based on previous days!

Hey, take one day at a time, it will work out just fine if the good days truly outnumber the bad days.  I thought you received excellent advice from all five responses.  I hope yesterday and today have been better.  However, if not, don't give up!  Narrow your sites on getting through one meal at a time.  That way, you can have multiple successes throughout the day or whatever percentage of "good" meals verses "overages" - in the end, it should be about the small successes.  Try to celebrate the little moments of victory more than you berate yourself for the bad moments - be POSITIVE with yourself - if you're not kind to yourself, who will be?  Gosh, I'm pulling for you!
