Heya. Good for you for wanting to gain weight, though remember at 16 and as a guy your growth spurt comes later than girls and that may include outward as well as upward. Still, you are quite underweight, and as such some food tips, advice, high-cal foods, menu ideas and just general help can all be found at this link: The Aim is to Gain: Advice on Weight Gain, Whatever Your Reason

As a male, you'll need a minimum of 3000 calories a day to effectively gain weight. This needn't be in gainer shakes or junk food or anything like that, as this meal plan can show you: A SAMPLE MEAL PLAN OF 3000 CALORIES - with ideas to take it up to 3500!

Lastly, don't weigh yourself in for two weeks because you may see water fluctuations not true to gaining and these can disappoint if you see a false gain one week, and then lose a lot the next. A healthy sustainable rate of gain is 0.5lbs to 2lbs a week. Good luck!

i can totally relate to you bro...when i was 16 i was 6'3 and 135lbs.....keep working out (never forget cardio) and eat alot of potatoes and high protein foods....wait a few years before you try any supplements.....dont sweat it bro you will even out, by the time i was 18 i was 6'5 and about 205...16 is a rough age and you dont have alot of control over your body right now, just keep workin and you'll see results

I had very similar stats when I was your age... 5'10" - 120 lbs, with a 30" waist.  I can relate.  Like skillz said, add some good proteins to your diet - chicken (preferably grilled), pork, lean fish, eggs.  Be sure to get some protein in your system within one hour following any exercise.

Keep in mind your metabolism isn't going to stay that fast forever.  When you do start to put on the pounds, be mindful of where you are on the scale.  Don't do as I did and get out of control with the weight gain.  Then, you'll wonder what the heck happened.
