HELP!

Quote  |  Reply

I have gained 11 pounds in the past 8 weeks or so and am very, very discouraged. I think that this weight gain mainly stems from some financial trouble that my husband and I are having.  Its been really stressful financially and I have been eating alot to deal with it.  At the moment I do not own a scale and we are so broke that not only can I not afford to go out and buy one, but I can't even afford to go buy a notebook to write my calories.  I don't have internet anymore, so I can't even log on to CC except on a rare day like today when I am at my in-laws doing laundry which is where I weighed myself.  My old tactic was to weigh myself at the same time once a week and write down everything I ate in a notebook which is where I would keep track of my successes with motivational stickers.  SO, now I need some tips for a new plan.  I've never been this broke before but I'm not willing to lose all my hard work due to this hurdle. PRAYERS PLEASE!

It's going to be okay!  Things will change, they always do! As far as keeping track of your weight- find a pair of pants in your closet that fit snug, and keep trying them on as often as you need to remind yourself that you've got a goal!  Also, try exercising to deal with your stress instead of eating.  Overeating will just pile more stress on top, but exercising help you cope!  Good luck, keep your chin up!

you can do it! i am so sorry about all your money troubles. things will get better though! just stay strong.

if you're stressed, don't eat; exercise! exercise is a very good way of dealing with stress. go for a run, do an exercise tape/dvd, ride a bike, jump rope, whatever you can. you'll feel so much better and more in control, while over-eating will just make you feel worse than before.

to measure your progress, why not take measurements? if you don't have a measuring tape, use a piece of string or yarn and measure that with a ruler. it's the ghetto way but i know i've done it.

good luck, and stay with it!!
