i have a really bad problem with healthy bingeing. yes, i know that this is a contradiction of terms, but it's a big problem. I'm really good at what i eat during breakfast and lunch. after school i come home and have a small snack of either a special k bar or fruit or vegetables or light yogurt. at dinner i have a good balanced meal. but afterwards, the trouble starts. i love love love to binge on healthier food! i usually go for the wheat thins that are so addicting that i can't stop or eat like 4 special k bars. actually tonight i ate almost one whole box of wheat thins, a special k bar, and 3 cookies that my sister made! all after i ate dinner!! why why why stupid stupid stupid! i don't know what to do! i know that i should take time to eat dinner, and i try to eat longer than 30 min for my body to realize it's full. i even put my wheat thins into a small dessert cup to try and maintain portion control. but i always reopen that cupboard. it would be different if i happened only once a month, but this happens maybe 3-4 times a week! what more can i do????

i totally understand because i went/go through the exact same cycle. the biggest thing is to make sure you are eating enough calories through out the day, that way you're not starving and playing catch up at night.
second, after dinner have a little something sweet if you do dessert (i always have a little dark chocolate) then brush your teeth, drink a tall glass of water and pop in a piece of gum. it helps to stay busy and turn off the kitchen light for the night. it's just a habitual behavior you HAVE to break, just go with the flow and chew that gum!
Try bingeing on celery and carrots. or fruit, if you need a little sugar
