HELP! I'm craving a quart of Trader Joe's frozen cherry chocolate soy cream
It's been a few weeks now of the very straight and narrow, with good progress.
But this happens every now and then. There's so much sugar in the stuff, I know it's BAD for me.
Calorie-wise, I can stay on track, if I eat the stuff over the course of 2 meals.
My main coping mechanism is to recall what's on the label and envision the piles of raw sugar, and that is repugnant.
OR a bag of Guiltless Gourmet baked, unsalted corn chips and a whole container of guacomole.
My willpower is faltering. I want to indulge, and I know better.
first off...why are you thinking in terms of WHOLE packages...can't you buy the treat that you are craving and stash the rest in a place that is unaccessible. or you can simply purchase the treat and share with a friend. or you can purchase the treat and walk outside with the unopened bag...pour a serving for yourself in front of a homeless person who might be sitting outside and give them the rest...the unopened part is key because you wouldn't want the person to think you contaminated it. this is better than throwing half of the bag away because then someone in need benefits. or you could take half of the chips and a serving of the guacamole out...put the chips in a box that you tape closed...and put the box in the trunk of your car. without the chips you are less likely to eat the guacamole. as for the ice cream..this one is more difficult. i'd say you'd be better off getting a good magazine and going to baskin robbins for a single scoop because ice cream requires more willpower. enjoy reading your magazine as you eat you SINGLE serving of ice cream guilt free. hope this helps =]
Nicely said chrissy :)
I came by to point out the same thing - everything in moderation!
Why a quart? Why not a scoop or even two if you really want to indulge.
We all deserve a moment of guiltfree weakness but it becomes a problem when we can't stop.
This is what you do: Blend Westsoy unsweetened vanilla soymilk [from Trader Joe's] with a tsp of vanilla, a TBSP of unsweetened cocoa powder, a tsp of Trader Joe's no salt added organic crunchy peanut butter, and a couple cups or so (or the whole bag) of Trader Joe's frozen black cherries to make Cherry Chocolate Ice Cream. You won't believe how good!
Thanks for your recipe, but when you break the whole craving into its parts, it's not so appetizing.
I managed to do my shopping at TJ and among other necessaries, I only bought frozen cherries. I avoided the soy ice cream, the chips, and the guacomole.
Really I know better than to yield to that temptation. I've also eaten that stuff often enough that I can remember the taste.
I'm sick of self-sabotage. It's insanity.
Good luck all.
