Yes, the evil that is produced by my very hands are my own home baked cookies. Oatmeal choc.chip, oatmeal raisin and peanut butter perfection. They are all so dense and chewy!!! You don't understand...this really is a sickness. These cookies should be famous and everyone who has tried them becomes addicted to their evil powers and I am no exception. I mean every time I've baked these cookies everyone wanted the recipe and then reports back to me that they also can't stop eating them...They really are GOOD and EVIL and (better than Ms Fields cookies by a long shot)I wish I never had this recipe!!!!
How do I stop and why can't I stop making and eating these cookies?!
Ahhhh HELP *crying into tissues*

Call an Exorcist! and soon because I can feel them calling to me right now....
Eeek.

My first thought was, "mmm... I should get these recipes!" :-) Just kidding ... please do not give me the recipes! I am new on this site and dont' really have any advice. I love cookies and dessert too and have been buying the low-cal frozen desserts. I always save enough calories for a little dessert in the evening - I think it's something I will never want to give up. What if you still let yourself make them, but only make a 1/4 batch, then you'll have less to eat and you can incorporate their calories into your daily goal? There's got to be a way - it sounds like you really love them! :-)
Throw out your flour and your butter. Then if you feel the urge to make cookies, you have the whole way to the store to realize you are making a mistake and choose some other, less fattening sweet, like nonfat sugar-free chocolate pudding :)
Um.. stop buying the stuff to make them?
How about this: challenge yourself to make a really tasty healthy cookie! I wonder if you could make Rice Crispie treats with Fiber One cereal or something... Whole wheat flour? Egg whites? Apple sauce? You sound like a master chef, I bet you could do it.
Also, one note of encouragement- while full-fat foods are obviously the most delicious, once I phased them out of my diet, my standards started changing, and now lower-fat ingredients that I otherwise might not have liked (like ff cheese or ice cream) they feel like a treat now, AND I can enjoy them more knowing they're not keeping pounds on my hips!
Good luck!

get the stuff OUT of your house!

When you're making the cookie dough, just add a bit of mayonnaise and hot sauce.....If that doesn't make you sick, then I don't know what will.
good luck!

I swear I thought I was going from a CR (Calorie Restrictor) to a binge eater!! I can now totally understand how people become addicted to food and binge eating...it can happen to anyone. The thing that's weird is I have incredible control with food unless it's these cookies...I call it the evil produced by my own hands. It's crazy because I'm not out there buying cookies or even need to buy cookies, but no...I go to the trouble of making these and then what? I eat them. Totally weird!!
BTW I LOVE YOU GUYS!! Yes, of course throw it out!! *light bulb goes on* It really is the only solution because Lord knows I've tried making a low cal version of them and nope according to recipe analyzer it saves like 50 cals and sacrifices too much flavor. Don't worry I will never post the recipe to these evil pieces of heaven. Unless we find out it is the end of the world tomorrow I will never post the recipe because believe me you will never stop eating them if you try "one."
Now someone said not to buy the stuff to make it...I would do that only I don't live alone. My husband eats oatmeal with raisins everyday for breakfast and there is no changing that. We will always have eggs, real sugar and butter in the house because he eats eggs, and uses real sugar and butter and will not change that but see he isn't trying to lose weight. Now the flour I'm not really sure why we even buy it.
The cookies, the flour...it must go in th trash before I eat anymore of it. Now why the flip didn't I think of throwing them out? Ahhh yes...GUILT...my mother's voice pops in my head the minute I think to throw food out and it always says "Don't waste food!"...Or "People are starving all over the world so don't be wasteful because God hates when people waste food...etc" Yes, I remember now.. it was always about God getting angry. Thanks Mom...don't worry it sure ain't wasted ...but it never did reach those starving people because it's all over my hips mother lol!
Okay thanks so much you guys!! I better go on a long run and throw out the cookies and the flour....and try not to feel like I'll be going to hell for it...*gulp* I promise this is the last time I ever make these!!
Thanks again for all the support ..you guys are the best!!

You can't do anything to stop it. That's what I've found as I've baked my own doomstuffs. Just allow a cookie a day into your caloric allowance.
Isn't the saying, "A cookie a day keeps the doctor away?" ;)

My birthday was May 23rd, you can kindly message me the recipes of the choc. chip & peanut butter!
Workoutaddict...OK, I give. Do you share your recipes? If so, let me know and I'll give you my email. I am a cookie afficianado and love getting ahold of new ways to torment my family, especially my uncle.
Healthify your recipes with things like egg whites, applesauce, whole wheat flour, and dried fruits. Also, give most of them away right after you make them--you'll feel good for being kind and for getting them away from you. Then, wrap up the ones you keep and put them where you can't see them, like in the cupboard. Only have one a day, and keep busy to prevent yourself from eating them! A little bit of will power goes a long way.
coming from someone who as actually fished a jar of peanut butter out of the garbage, i can feel your pain. i finally got to the point where i just can't buy it anymore because it's like crack to me. unfortch, other than not buying it (and pouring dish soap on it when you throw it away) i don't have any advice to offer.
Oh dearr. I want the recipe ;] Message it to me if you have a chance! I would love to help you convert them into low-calorie low-fat cookies. I'm sure the recipe could be adjusted to make them healthier without making them taste like cardboard. Whats in them? I use a lot of low-calorie low-fat recipes that taste as good as the originals!
can i get that recipe from you!?
workout addict I would also like the recipe if you don't mind...
Okay guys I?ll share but I?d feel too responsible if I personally sent the recipes via private messages. So I?ll post them here and that way I don?t have to feel that I have personally given the workings of Satan to anyone in particular. BTW many times I've tried to make low cal versions of these by using splenda, or half the amount of butter and applesauce etc but the texture and taste was ruined and it wasn't even much lower in cals so I say if you have a "cheat day" then enjoy these the way they were meant to be baked!
****WARNING and DISCLAIMER: What you are about to read is graphic and may not be suitable for dieters. I?m an extremely disciplined eater and avid runner and there is no food that I can?t control myself around EXCEPT for these cookies. Strange that I don?t go and buy cookies, or junk food at all for that matter, but I bake these cookies myself for what I can only guess is some strange sick dance with danger that I must enjoy on some subconscious level. They will turn the most finely disciplined eater into a binger, and if you already are a binge eater please look the other way now and don?t ever come back to this thread!
If you would like to spend the next 4 days avoiding the scale and spending hours on a stair master then we are ready to begin!
Evil # 1 known as
?Grandmother?s Oatmeal Raisin Cookies? (cookies are thick, large and chewy/soft and gooooood!)
2.5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1.5 sticks of butter (softened)
1.5 cups granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup raisins
1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips (optional?but a damn good option! I?ve always made them with the choc.chips? and let?s face it if you are baking these then you probably aren?t counting calories today)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional?I don?t like them with the nuts but some people do)
In small bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt
In a larger bowl combine butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla
Then add the flour mixture into the butter/sugar/eggs mixture
Add the oats, choc.chips, nuts, raisins or just the raisins or just the choc chips etc (whatever you?d prefer and mix with a wooden spoon)
On a lightly buttered cookie sheet drop rounded cookies by large spoonfuls and slightly flatten out
Bake until golden which is about 15 minutes on 300-350F (rotating cookie sheet between upper and lower rack half way through baking to make sure bottom is lightly golden and top is lightly golden ?don?t over bake or they?ll be dry).
Bakes about 12-14 large soft cookies
Evil # 2 Best for last but these ones come with a hefty price tag (you?ll either gain weight after eating these because believe me you ain?t stopping at one or you?ll work your butt off trying to do calorie damage control).
?Peanut Butter Perfection? is dangerous and it will kick your butt. I can NEVER buy PB for fear that I?d eat the entire jar then go out and buy another and then maybe buy another and smear it all over my body lol?okay enough?needless to say I will never win a battle against PB. Yup just like linetteyspagettey... the stuff is like crack to me too LOL
And don?t even flippin think about going near the scale or getting off that stair master for at least 2 days after eating these. But you know what? I?ve lived to tell about them and they are worth it!!!! Enjoy!
Peanut Butter Perfection
2.5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup Jiffy Crunchy or Smooth PB
½ cup butter (softened)
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semi sweet choc.chips
1 cup Reese PB chips
In small bowl combine flour, salt, and baking soda
In large bowl mix PB, butter, brown and white sugar, egg and vanilla
Add flour mixture to PB mixture
Then add the Choc.Chips and Reese chips
With wet fork make criss-cross pattern on top of each cookie or skip this step.
Bake until lightly golden for 15-20 minutes rotating cookie sheets between upper and lower rack halfway through baking.
Bakes about 12-14 large, soft cookies?and they will disappear before they cool!
