HELP! How Do I-A Lost Teen- Start Intuitive Eating?
Hi, everyone. I am a 13-year old female, 5'5 and about 125 pounds give or take 2 pounds. I have been eating 1300 calories and exercising for at least an hour for months and am completely drained. Also, I don't eat very healthy and take advantage over overeating whenever I can.
I think it's time to start practicing Intuitive eating but I have questions:
- Won't I gain weight b/c I will be eating more?
- How long should I practice Intuitive Eating before stepping on the scale again?
- Usually I eat very little until dinner- I figure that if I pack a small lunch for school once I'm there I can't eat anything else because I'm already at school so it doesn't matter if I'm hungry- and then I eat a lot at dinner and usually it's not healthy( my parents make dinner) and I feel heavy but still want to eat more b/c I've barely eaten all day.How do I overcome my Huge anxieties of turning into a big blob and start to do Intuitive Eating throughout the entire day?
- Can anyone give me ideas for breakfast, lunch, snacks( I usually come home, get a 0-calorie drink and do 2 or more hours of HW and then I do the treadmill and then I have an 100-calorie snack and then do more exercise and then wait and then have dinner), dinner, dessert, and exercises (free videos online would be great but anyhting would be helpful!)? This would be REALLY helpful. (but, please, nothing over 1800 calories in all; I can't handle more yet).
Does anyone else practice intuitive eating or is trying getting over a type of eating disorder and has huge fears of gaining weight. I can't stand the thought of gaining weight- I'm a loser in my school and I CANNOT also be the fat one. My school is very snobby and no one is spared in the popular kid's attempt to promote themselves.
OH, I'M SO AFRAID OF GAINING WEIGHT. HOW LONG SHOULD I PRACTICE INTUITIVE EATING BEFORE STEPPING ON THE SCALE AGAIN?
Just to make it clear, I still want to lose weight but...I don't want to eat nothing and then eat everything unhealthy whenever I can- I want to adapt a healthy lifestyle and lose the weight successfully and healthily. and keep it off.
Thank you!! and if I sound ungrateful or mean or anything bad, please forgive me- I don't mean it!
Hey ^^
I'm 18 and I know your problem! Or at least a part of it - the my-parents-make-dinner-part... I was chubby when I was younger cos my Mum would by cake every single day - and which kid would say no to cake if you put it right in front of them? Then she started a diet herself, and I lost my extra weight just because she didn't give me all that unhealthy stuff anymore...
However, now she's kind of falling back into her old habits, buying cake everyday... I know, I should now have the discipline NOT to eat it, but it's hard xD So I just told her that I wanted to eat healthier, so she started cooking healthier things again!
So that's basically my advice - ask you Mum for help! I'm sure she will support you at least with eating healthy (even if she doesn't think you have to lose weight - she can't say no to you eating healthy!)
Oh, and don't stress about gaining weight so much! I know it's easy to just say it, but I found that whenever I try NOT to eat too much, my cravings are much worse and I end up eating more than I would, when I just eat whatever I want!
I hope I could help you at least a little bit!
I do agree with the alst part you said and that usually happens with me.
My Mom doesn't actually cook, my Dad does and he gets really offended when you ask for soemthing different to eat so I just say I don't eat some things (really unhealthy) and he stops buying them. He's 1 of those people who can have a full palte of fattening food in front of him and just eat a little bit.
