Help! I Need new breakfast foods!
Okay, so I need some ideas on what to eat for breakfast. For about a month now I've had the same thing for breakfast everyday. An egg sandwhich which was made with,
1 thomas's light multi grain english muffin
1/2 peice of american cheese
1 egg
I need some other things to eat that are relativly low in calories, will hold me for a few hours, and can be made quickly.
Also I'm a vegitarian so no meat.
hope this helps

wow, i've nv heard of that. what ingredients do they put in it then?
Dannon light n fit yogurt (6 oz = 60 cals) with 1/4 cup GoLean Crunch.
1/2 cup egg beates in two LTF tortillas
Shaheen, I just tried Weetabix for the first time this week. Seemed to need a little flavor boost. I usually have some kind of fruit with cereal, but it was still a bit bland. Any suggestions?
Also, have you ever tried heating it up (after it gets soft, of course)?
Thanks!
Organic sprouted wheat, filtered water, organic malted barley, organic sprouted rye, organic sprouted oats, organic sprouted millet, organic sprouted corn, organic sprouted brown rice, fresh yeast and sea salt.
After typing this, I realize I could have ommitted a lot of effort on my part by leaving out "organic" lol. I don't necessarily try to do everything organic, but these muffins are very tasty and fill you up. One serving is a half a muffin.
One serving of steel cut oatmeal w/ 2 tablespoons of flaxseed,
2 tablespoons of dried fruit(no raisins, they raise the glycemic making you want to eat again)
1 serving of a high protein drink made with soy.
The combination of good, low glycemic carbs and high protein keep you going for hours.
i was going to write exactly what hak wrote. have you tried potatoes and veggie bacon/chicken strips/pepperoni? how about cottage cheese warmed up w/tomato sauce, you can dip soy crisps in it. hummus on your egg&cheese. a tempeh burger/lentil burger that you homemake (there are great recipes online). how about a soup w/seaweed and scrambled egg and rice/beans (sort of like an egg drop)?
personally i'm a rice cake fanatic. hopefully one day i'll get tired of them and start thinking outside the box too. good luck getting some variety!
One Dannon Light n Fit yogurt plus 1/2 cup Fiber One mixed in plus half grapefruit on the side = 170 calories
1st either whole wheat english muffin, whole wheat bagel, or whole wheat toast... toasted with Adams all Natural Peanut Butter
Or
Quacker Steel Oats, with ff milk, splenda, and half a fist full of raisins... great for those cold winter months!
All of these are YOU approved and they have helped me drop 25 pounds. I feel that it helps keep hunger and cravings down.
I dont usually have meat, altho i think i have one egg and ham thing. So just use tomato slices instead.
1 cp milk (100 cal), 1 banana (100 cal), 3/4 cup frozen blueberries (60 cal), and 1 tbsp cocoa powder (12 cal)
Tip: blend the banana and blueberries with 1/4 cup milk to thoroughly chop up the blueberries, then whip it up with the rest of the milk and cocoa.
Delicious!
if you have more time:
1 slice of raisin bread (100) OR two slices of whole wheat bread (140), 1 tbsp of promise buttery spread (32-50 cals), skim milk (86)
[I'm a milk addict] = 236-276 cals
oatmeal! = 100, with milk = around 200 (depending on which milk you use to make it)
1 light yogurt (100) + 2oz granola (100) + banana (100) [in or outside of the yogurt]
you can always substitute the banana for any other fruit. an apple would be around 50 cals.
---
and then theres always the whole egg + piece of toast + fruit + milk for a heavy 250-400 cals.
o.o..now I'm hungry
