New and looking for someone to help motivate me and who I can motivate.  Is there anyone out there who has similar stats as me?
5'8", 143lbs, and I have a weakness for Coke, smokes, and donuts.
Terrible habits, I know...

My goal is to put on about 10 lbs..

Put effort into eating more nutritious, high calorie foods. Calculate your daily calorie needs (link:http://www.ahealthyme.com/topic/calneed), and eat 300-500 more per day than your maintainence level. Split you daily calories into several meals (5-6) and ensure you are eating healthy foods. You will need to eat more of everything, but put an emphasis on protein (helps build muscle) and healthy fats (calorie rich).

The Coke, cigarettes, and donuts really won't help you gain weight, unfortunately.Wink

If you eat properly you can gain 10lbs in 10 weeks. Weight training will also be helpful, as you will gain more muscle and your weight gains may be boosted by the shock of a new exercise (newbie gains).

Change your way of life.  Talk more walks to help keep your lungs clear.  Change the habit part of smoking, i.e., after eating, waking up, driving, love-making.

I would walk more but I don't like to do it alone and my bf always has a reason as to why he can't go with me. I think I could kick the smoking habit but he's a smoker as well. Maybe if we avoid the afore mentioned love making he wouldn't be tempted to smoke afterwards Tongue out

Sometimes a good, strong partner is good for loving support.  A good partner should be intuitive and know your moods; know when you need gentle prodding, and know when to back off, or when a firmer approach is needed.
