i want to know how often does every1 here weight themselves... and how often have u found to be the most effective...
I weigh myself every Sunday as my "Official" weigh in, which i usually log into CC.
But i also weigh myself on Wednesday to make sure I'm on track for the week :)
Works well for me.
When i first started losing weight I was very impatient and didn't think I could cope seeing my weight fluctuate on the scales every day - so I simply didnt weigh in every day.
Now however, I sometimes jump on the scales at home to see how my weight fluctuates according to my diet (sodium intake, water weight, totm weight etc) but I when I see I am up/down a few pounds I dont count it!! Its really just for info.
So.. I'd say, once a week is good. Every day is a good indication of how different things effect your body - but if you live each day recording this weight, losing 2lbs monday morning only to gain 5lbs on tuesday morning to take it off again on wednesday etc.. it would drive me insane!!! I wouldn't know which direction I was going in!
I weigh every day - and you can see from my weight graph that it goes up and down every day.
The best advice on the subject I've heard - if you can be as unemotional about a 2 lb gain as a 2 lb loss (you don't get too upset OR too excited) you can weigh every day. But if your emotions are going to be ruled by the morning weigh in, just do it once a week.
Here's a website that gives a rationale for why it is ok to weigh every day:
I weight myself everyday (I can't hep it, I'm hooked) but I only record when I go down ![]()
I find if I'm the same weight for several days, I'll be down within a week!
i weigh every day, for me it works best to see the gradual changes
