help me set my goal weight...

Quote  |  Reply

hi all,

i am now up from 94pounds to102pounds... i gain incredibly slowly but only raised from 2500 to 3000cals recently so it may get better.

i have never set a goal weight, and my nutritionist/dr has never mentioned it either. i would like one though.

i'm 5ft8 and female, i've had EDs, and i have trouble finding what 'frame' i am. the test is supposed to be whether you can put you fingers round your wrist... but at my weight i can put my fingers round my biceps for gods sakes! disgusting...but sadly true. pre-ED i was apparetly atheletic and broad- i would say medium bone structure, definantly not small.

anyway, any suggestion would be good. or a range then i can pick the middle.

thanks,

als xx

you should regain to at least a bmi of 20 for you that would be 132ibs , but it may be that you need to be more as this is the lowest range 140 pounds would give you a bmi of 21 my guess is you will know when you get there ie how you fel what your theapist says , if you have your periods etc. try not to focus on numbers to much you are doing well but you are a long way off h x

Firstly weldone on your progress so far, and on increasing your intake!

The rule of thumb here is to aim for a BMI of 20 and then see how you are when you are there in terms of health ect. 20 is sometimes still too low to keep a period and good immune system for some people, but it's a good starting point!

Keep going! xx
