Help! I am stuck...
Okay, I have lost quite a bit of weight (at first with the South Beach Diet and exercise) but I am stuck. My belly feels bigger than ever! I don't know if this is body dysmorphic disorder (a mild version) or if I am not trying hard enough. I would soooo appreciate the opinion of you folks cuz you all seem very educated on what it takes to reach your goals and stay there.
This is what I do:
Breakfast - 2 eggs over easy with multigrain toast or sprouted bread (california style), 2 cups of coffee black with splenda
Midmorning - Fruit + Yogurt or a fruit smoothie with skim millk, ice, and strawberries or raspberries or blueberries and a banna. Something small 3-4 hours after breakfast and some water
Lunch - Sometimes soup (Vegetable Beef Barley, Tomato Basil, Chicken and Rice, brothy nice soups) sometimes salad with no dressing just lemon juice and olive oil and either a hardboiled egg or some grilled chicken, usually 1/4 of an avocado. Usually have a diet coke or herbal tea with splenda.
Midafternoon - Luna Bar or a Pure Protein bar with an apple. More herbal tea if I still feel like I want something.
Dinner - Campbells healthy request soup with a couple of wheat crackers or a nice big salad with turkey and tomato and onion and asparagus or cucumber. I use South Beach dressing at home.
A couple of hours after dinner I do a video like Tae Bo Bootcamp or Hollywood Trainer with Jeanette Jenkins (using 10 pound weights), or Kickboxing or Power Yoga, sometimes 2 videos (if hubby is not home to tell me no).
Can anyone see a place where I need to improve my routine? I think I have enough videos (like 30) that my body isn't bonking. I kind of want to get under 120, if only to say I did it, and to have more room for fluctuations. I don't know why but I have weighed the same for about 3 weeks! What's the dealio?
Thanks to anyone who can help me!
I am 23 and have a muscular body. I'm 5'2 tall. Sorry I was too vague, I'm not sure how to communicate to people what I'm going through cuz weight loss to me has always been a private...issue...lol. I forgot to mention I do eat late sometimes, after my workout which is at 10 sometimes. I have weight control oatmeal or another luna bar or carrots with hummus. I have a sneaking suspicion I'm not eating enough, but it could be my workouts...I'm lost :P
iheartsin--
don't underestimate the sodium in those healthy soups. i love the progresso soups that are 60 or 80 cals/cup... i usually eat 2 servings at once and it is very filling. but even "healthy" and "underseasoned" soups can add up to alot of sodium. almost anything packed in a container will have quite a bit. try to stay around 2400-2600 mg of sodium per day to help lose a few more pounds that could be water weight.
i think you are right on target about not eating enough. on a rough estimate, you are taking in MAYBE 1200 a day, and probably burning close to another 500. i would recommend checking this out to help you figure your BMR, which is your base amount of calories you should eat just to function properly and not let your body think you are starving it-- that could cause your body to cling to the calories you ARE putting in, even though you are working up a sweat to burn them off!
just a few thoughts to think about! i hope you break your plateau!!
Sodium, sodium, sodium. be very careful with soup also even though avacado is "good" fat it still has alot of calories also luna bars are pretty high in calories..arent they?
