Help!! Test Negative Period delayed

Hi, My period is delayed by at least 4 days, normally its dot on time on the 29th day. I am already on my 32nd and there are no signs of it whatsoever. Since we are trying TTC actively, I have done home pregnancy tests 3 times already since last friday I am doing them every alternate day, but all have come negative. What should I do?

When was the time that you had intercourse? You're supposed to take it at least 2 weeks after that day. If you still don't get your period in the next week or so I'd suggest you take the test again. Maybe try a different brand too. It may just be too early. And when you do, make sure you take it the FIRST thing in the mourning- the very first time you go to the bathroom that day. Good luck!

I would go to the doc to get a blood test maybe.  I think those are more sensitive.  And, like Holly said; you may have to wait one or two weeks. 

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!  Do you have any extreme PMS but no period?  When I first "thought" I may be pregnant I was four days over my due date and my boobs hurt like hell.  Different then TTOM boob pain.  The pregnancy test I took was the digital one that said Pregnant or Not Pregnant.  Those are the easiest to read.

I'd go to the doctor and have them test you.  Sometimes the pregnancy hormone isn't strong enough to get a positive reading on a home test, but the doctor can tell you for sure.  Good luck! :)

Good luck! I agree, go to your doctor. The false positive rate on home pregnancy tests is pretty low (getting a positive result if you're really not pregnant), like less than 1%, but the false negative (getting a negative result even though you ARE pregnant) can be upwards of 20%. Even a few days after you expected your period, there isn't always a high enough hormone level in your urine for a home test to pick it up.

Go see a doctor I took 3 preg. test and I had already missed 2 periods and they were neg. I figured it was just stress. Well my stress is almost 2 years old now!

Hey, just two months ago, I was late by 2 weeks. I had previously been very consistent with having my period before day 36.   i had taken two home pregnancy tests which were both negative.  I finally wrote to my doctor after 1 week for advice. She said to give my period another 2 weeks and if no period, to come in for an eval.  She said sometimes, the cycle gets out of whack for various reasons (I think mine was because we had been out of the country for 2 weeks and my body clock got weirded out).  I eventually had my period on day 56.  But that was within the 2 week time period my doc said to wait before going in for an appointment. So my advice, call your doc and ask what he/she thinks, or wait 2-3 weeks to see if you get your period. If not, then go in for an appointment.    Good luck!

Thanks a lot for all the advice. I will set up an appointment with my gynae for this weekend. I am getting all the symptoms of pregnancy like nausea and all so it looks like the case. But since I tried 3 different tests from 3 different company and all came negative am not too sure if any celebrations are premature. Thanks again.

i have a couple of friends who had missed 2 periods and had some pregnacy symptoms but took several preg test and they were all negative! sometimes they are just not accurate. i would wait a couple weeks and see if you get it if not then go to the doc to have a blood test done.

I should also add that one of my best friends had to take several tests before she found one that came out positive. And she was indeed pregnant and now has a beautiful daughter. Even with the negatives, she knew all along she was. So keep testing throughout the weeks- or maybe ask your doctor if taking a blood test will be more accurate.

I have 5 beautiful children!  I will just let you know that of the 5 I had three positive pregnancies come back after a blood test was done.  So the blood test can also have fault.  If you feel you are pregnant or even think you are you should act as though you are.  Look after yourself just in case.  Sometimes if it is very early your body may not be producing enough of the hormone that is detected in order to give a positive result even if you are in fact pregnant.  Good luck with everything!  I really hope you are pregnant!  Children really change your life and for the better I believe.
