Help & Tips to merge your Classic account over to the new Calorie Count Plus website
ok, was sharing this with someone else & thought i'd post it here to...
Confused about getting your account and all your logs and tags and personal data to work in the Calorie Count Plus website??? Try this!
use this link http://caloriecount.about.com/
you're going to migrate your account (go through a process to import your calorie-count classic information to the calorie count plus website).
You may have to choose a new different name to use on the about.com website. Choose something you like and can remember easily. For example, you can try something like yourname2 (note the #2 in the example yourname2 ;)Short & Sweet Instructions: do the sign up process.
but after you import your calorie-count member name, then you will use your old name in the new calorie count plus website (and just use the new name in the rest of the about.com website)
i know this sounds confusing, but it's easier than it sounds, so try the process.
Before you start, completely "sign out" (log out) of your old account completely,
then go to http://caloriecount.about.com/
On the sign in page (New Members)
Click Sign Up.
try your Member name (if your name comes up as "not available", then try your alternate name like yourname2)
the next screen will merge your account and should walk you through the process.
Long Step by Step Instructions (should work for first time, if you need to do it again or for someone else's account on a shared computer):
- completely "sign out" (log out) of calorie-count from the account you want to merge over (yours or your spouses....)
- go to http://caloriecount.about.com/
- click on Sign in as a New Member
- put in all of your real information like you are creating a brand new account
- (note: remember to check availability of your name button and if your name was taken to choose an easy to remember name like yourname2 or yourname3 to use on the about.com website similar to your calorie count name you will use here and on the calorie count plus websites)
- click I accept
- on the RIGHT: choose Have an Existing Account
- (NOTE: do NOT choose the left choice to create a new cc account)
- click Log In
- if the name is the name you want
- put in the password
- click Import
- click proceed to calorie count plus
- sign out of this calorie-count.com website
- toss your browser cookies,
- clear your browser cache,
- and then sign back into the old calorie-count.com classic website here (with the name you want to transfer)
- then start all over from the top of the instructions to try the sign in process again. (but don't forget to sign out from here again before you go to the new site :)
if that doesn't work or you have more questions, please post a message in this forum asking for more help. You can always use the contact link on the top of any of the community pages to contact the website, but sometimes it's quicker to ask in the forums because lots of people are around and willing to lend a hand :)
Hope this helps! Cheers, united (volunteer moderator :)
you mean your member page/profile?
if you log into your account on the the about website, go to community, you should find it on the people page/tab
if you have the same cc+ name, you would find it here:
http://caloriecount.about.com/profile/nicolea rcherIf it's not there, then you will probably need to recreate it. Copy your old and paste into the new account
(ps ~ if you do need to recreate it in the merged account but you lose the right formatting and stuff when you paste it in, then try copy/pasting the techno goop stuff using the html button green bracket < and > buttons)
Holler if you have questions about this. Cheers, united :)
I'm having trouble finding my recipes. I don't see an option under Recipe Browser to look at my own recipes. I found one of mine by searching recipes for my name but I can't find anything else. Help!
Edit: I figured it out. If you go to Foods, the tabs show:
Overview | Food Browser | Recipe Browser | New Recipe | Unit Converter
If you click on Recipe Browser and then click on any of the recipes in the list of most popular recipes it shows you, the missing tabs show up. In addition to Overview | Food Browser | Recipe Browser etc. you also have Tagged Recipes | My Recipes.
Now that I know how to get to my recipes I don't mind but someone should probably fix that.
hi - - does calorie count plus have a toolbar that can replace the old calorie count internet browser toolbar? i really like having it but always have to navigate back to the plus version.
Thanks!
