Help! I am worried that I need to change what I am doing with food and working out.

So I have been doing really well with working out and eating for the last 2 months, then I got a job where I am on my feet anywhere from 5-8 hours in a day running around going upstairs, or putting clothes back. I know that I am burning more calories, and I have also done more weight training as opposed to cardio like I was doing before, but I am practically doing cardio most of the day at work. I have somewhat slipped on counting my calories, and before I was shooting for 1400 cals a day when I was working out 4-5 days a week but not working. I woke up this morning and weighted myself and I have gained a pound :( I have been doing so well with losing 1lb a week and this week it said I gained it back, granted I did have a bbq and ate alot of food on saturday and went out to eat wedsneday night and thursday, but worked the entire week and worked out 3 times this week, I feel that I have been worse in the past and still lost. I am 5'7 and weight 180(was 179 last friday :(  Does anyone have any advice? Do I need to focus on getting more calories since I am working more? Please help, I am feeling so down right now.

You do appreciate the irony in the statement  "granted I did have a bbq and ate alot of food on saturday and went out to eat wedsneday night and thursday" ?   Three days of overeating is quite a big chunk of a week and if the food you ate was quite salty and if there was any alcohol involved you're lucky to have got away with 1lb.

Work out what your new calorie intake should be based on a higher activity level and then go with that.  Keep your food diary accurately, weighing and measuring portions rather than guessing.   The weight-gain from the meals out will only be temporary.

Ditto to what gi-jane said.

You may more likely than not need to increase your intake, but stay far, far away from sodium. It's a killer to the weight loss progress. Also, without keeping note on everything you've been eating, you may be grossly under-estimating your caloric intake and slowly the weight loss process. Good luck!
