That's pathetic.  I once got in trouble my senior year of high school for having cough drops in my purse while I was getting over a cold.

You can't bring eating utensils to school? That's pretty nuts.

I saw that on the news. Absolutely ridiculous. Poor kid!!!

yeah it sucks, but the rules clearly state no knives.  he brought a knife...  the pic on yahoo! news shows the kid holding what looks like a pocket knife that also contains a fork and spoon.

i realize his intent wasn't to hurt any of his classmates, but his parents should have better sense.  it was before columbine and virginia tech that i was in grade school and i wouldn't have taken something like that.

those that enforced the rule had no choice.  i agree that the rules should be changed, but how are the teachers/faculty supposed to know when something is brought for intent to harm or for something less?
